I signed up for the email list but does anyone else know if the announcement will be made here first? Seems like it would make sense for that to happen. Unless they're able to verify registered email to forum ID.

Who designs the forum knife? Is it voted on in the forum?

Gotcha, it would be great if there was an official thread for the next forum knife and everyone could submit one knife they would like to see, then maybe sal and crew narrow it to 20 or 10 or whatever that they could do and that they think would sell out, then the forum votes on a winner and it gets produced.

Like maybe you pick...

model (current or retired)

blade steels (something that has been used before in country your model is made in...H1 or VG10 for Seki Models, S30V or Cruwear for Golden Models...etc)

scale material (has to be a material that has been used on that model in the past...so no new $20K FRN molds...lol)

scale color (something that has been done is the past since a new color may not even be possible/available from their suppliers)

blade grind (ffg?)

blade finish (satin, stonewash, dlc)

markings on the blade (logo? words?), etc.


Like for me, i might pick a Native with Red G10 and a DLC CPM-4V blade. Or a Native LW with White FRN and a DLC CPM-3V blade.

i collect hot wheels and they have a Redline Club where they do something similar each year where there are forum polls and the winning model gets made and everyone preorders as many as they want and they produce that many and ship them a year later after they are made.

Any news when this is getting released?

Maybe they saw the feedback in this thread and they are doing some last minute changes?

Ha, wishful thinking! It'll probably sell out fast despite the controversial inlay.

If they did a peelply cf instead of that inlay they would have one of the best pm2s ever made.

PM2 with Smooth CF and Elmax Core Damascus would be my vote for next years knife.

Any new updates on this knife?

I have not heard any updates. I'm hoping we will receive an email in the next 6 days (if the knife is still being released in July 2018) notifying us of the release date.

I can't wait my first forum knife too.

I'm sure a lot of it has to do with what is practical for them to produce as fitting something into a production schedule can be tricky when you're close to maxed out.
