opened some packages with a pac salt
If you were then going to use that same knife for food preparation would you have to carefully rinse it first or not?

Used the zdp-manbug and manix2 lw maxamet to cut and trim red liner material for the mule team 27. Definitely a Spyderco inspired evening! Even cleaned off a spot to place the Spyderco sticker on a toolbox drawer. :spyder:

Depends on the package. Sterile looking clamshell? Probably won't bother. Cardboard box that has three years of garage dust accumulated? I'll wash it twice.

Did some light prying with my Pacific Salt to fix the connection on an external hard drive. The contacts where the plug connects had gotten bent and I pushed them back into place. Worked!

Used my Advocate to cut up a couple hundred feet of cardboard and about 60' of tough plastic strapping into bite-sized pieces.

Ziptied Cat5 cables..... Sooo many zipties. Hawkbill Dragonfly made the work way easier than it would have been with a standard blade. Cut a lot of cardboard with the Rex para 3 this week as well, goes through it like it's not there.

Triple layer cardboard at work. A coworker said dude not your pocket knife that stuff will dull it real fast. I had to tell him about how awesome s110v is and how it eats cardboard like it's nothing.

One of the girls at work was looking through our inventory. Asked for a knife to cut open a box and see what was in it. Handed her my SE Pacific Salt. She managed to avoid cutting herself, but sliced right into the steel pole of the shelf the box was sitting on. And stabbed it.

Ah well, H1 is really tough stuff, so it only took about sixty seconds to straighten out the damage.

No comments about how big, black and scary my Pacific Salt is...like usual.

Not to mention, that’s what they’re for. My VG 10 slices through all thicknesses and comes back for more, every day.

Nice! How do you like the PD#1 Mule? I'm still working on making the handle scales for mine.

I'm considering buying a set of inexpensive G-10 handles so I can use it in the meantime.

She's a beast so far. Cut up a couple boxes and "slap" chopped some small apple tree limbs without issue. Pulled it out to clean it up a little and thought I saw some chipping but it was just plastic from the G-clip :D I've been thinking about making some CF handles for it as I have enough material left over from an earlier project but I'm liking the G-10 it came with. Para cord could get you using it until you get those scales done ;)

TECHNICALLY not a spyderco, but close enough. Cut up some 90 foot sections and spliced an eye in each end. This is a small batch of rope, I think they ordered the wrong thickness. Looks like 4 inch instead of 4.5-5. It was slightly less abrasive than the other batches though and the rescue 2 walked right through it.

Fun fact: while my s110v military never got a spec of rust and my first byrd rescue 2 got cosmetic spots constantly, my new s110v pm2 has actually rusted MORE than my newest byrd rescue 2. They are stored in the same pocket, and the pm2 only had a few small spots that came off with my fingernail. However, this particular byrd hasn't rusted whatsoever. I found that interesting.

I like the looks of that orange Cara Cara rescue. Didn't realize vendors had the colors in stock already. Gonna have to order a few to give away for Christmas.

Yes, they are an incredible value at under $25.

Black and orange are always available.
