I consider patience in awaiting a new knife more of a pain than a virtue. Like Mick Jagger said, “too much is not enough.” And he wasn’t taking about patience. Looks like those who don’t care about deep pocket carry will save $20. You can’t have both.
Overheard at the end of the ice age, “We’ve been having such unnatural weather.”

the double detent on the release button is a very good addition, I've had issues with customs in NZ and I wouldn't be trying to import a knife which when you pressed a "button" the blade could fall free. This is now my most anticipated knife, hopefully before Christmas!

Credit where credit's due - big thank you to the Spyderco crew for making this left-carry compatible! There have been a number of recent knives which I've had to pass on recently (Eurodagger, Nirvana) due to being right hand carry only.

Thought it was time for a bump on the Smock, really looking forward to this one. Unique design and new (for Sypderco) push button compression lock.

I could see some great sprint/exclusives if it's popular enough.

The smock really does look like an amazing knife. I cannot wait to get my hands on one! Though I agree that a little bit shorter blade would have made me happy

I read somewhere in this forum that it was hopefully the end of the year. Don't remember where I saw that.

This release is the first to make me restless. It just seems like it's never going to happen! Was thinking summer, then fall, then Christmas...now it's looking like 2019. I need you Smock flipper. Been holding off on a couple others in anticipation of your sudden, out of the blue release. :o

I cancelled my preorder last week. The button compression lock is the most interesting thing about this model. I hope Spyderco introduces it elsewhere. The "Smock" look was always borderline for me and there are more intriguing things coming (eg Paul Alexander Ikuchi).
