Hmm may have to bump the Hanan from my Birthday list and get one of these instead. Cruwear seems like a good fit for the Shaman. Canvas Micarta should be a good fit as well. Really enjoying the base model at the moment.

Everyone is going to say they want this but we will have to see what happens when the sticker shock kicks in. At over $200 (just a guess) is this gonna fly off the shelves? I am in for one but I am prepared to pay the price.

What would we expect the MSRP to be on such a sprint? Plain Jane is $280, Cruwear usually adds about $10, and micarta is usually an easier material to machine since there usually isn't any glass fiber in it. I hope the micarta keeps the cost no more than G10, based solely on the ease of machining aspect.

Like Darby, I'm guessing this sprint would hover around $300 to $320. That equates to a MAP of about $200.

I like the idea, but I know I start to slow down over $150, and balk at $200. I’ve only ever bought 3 knives that expensive, 2 are fixed blades and one is a ZT301 I need to liquidate. I have my eye on that KW exclusive M4 CF pm2.

Can we add rex45 to the poll?

Micarta and Cruwear aren't necessarily overly expensive materials, hopefully the increase in price won't be too substantial. I won't say what price I'd pay for this knife, but I'd pay a bit over what the current model goes for. I do feel like this model is a bit higher priced than it should be (base model), but I only don't have one because of S30V.

I can't make up my mind if I want a Shaman or backlock Manix in Rex45 more. Maybe the backlock Manix. But I'm not sure. I'll settle for the BLM in Rex45 and the Shaman in Cruwear. Yep, that will do.

That's Eric's leaning, CF with a super steel like S90V or S110V. It's up for discussion now. Though I must admit, having carried a Shaman quite a bit, I'd like one in Cruwear and brown canvas Micarta. :p

I agree with Sal! Not only would those materials support the design, it would offer something different.

"Cruwear and brown canvas Micarta. "

That definitely works for me. I really like Micarta.

I reluctantly voted for 4v because I just want to see more of it. Cruwear is the perfect steel for this though. If that gets released it would be a "must buy" for me regardless of the handle.

I vote for Cruwear/Brown Micarta. I also think it would sell much better than a more expensive CF/S110V.

Definitely would like to see the cruwear/micarta sprint first, but that sounds good too!

I'm carrying my Shaman right now!

The votes are still rolling in on this poll and Cruwear continues to pile up! Super pumped for the Cruwear Micarta Shaman!

I am glad to see 3V and 4V getting a bunch of votes as well. We really need to see a few knives come out of Golden with these steels. A 3V/4V Shaman would be awesome, but really any of the Mille/PM2/Para3/Native/Native LW would be fantastic in either of these steels and surely would sell out a Sprint run or exclusive run no problem. I would buy a few of each for sure.

CF/S90V will likely be out of my price range. I also prefer the durability of micarta over carbon fiber.

The Shaman wasn't really on my radar, but with that combination, specifically the micarta handle, I will be picking one up. Something different from Spyderco. Although I do have couple of knives in CRUWEAR, and I do like the steel, I would prefer to see something different. But, the micarta will likely do me in.

A few months ago I was trying to select my first, larger Spydie. I gave serious consideration to the Shaman, but "settled" on the Rex 45 PM2 and thought I could then direct my knife-attention elsewhere. Yet, the Shaman is back, and if a micarta/cruwear sprint happens, the Rex will begin to have some serious competition as my daily driver.
