...months of anticipation and if you have a shower at the wrong time instead of constantly refreshing a web page you miss out
That's exactly what happened to me when they dropped on DLT. Guess I'll just use a chamber pot and not shower. I'll probably still not be fast enough!

My KC pre-order shipped today, yay!! :D

Realized on the confirm that my order was placed on Dec 8th and shipped pretty much 9 months later to the day, not too bad lol.

My sentiments exactly, I've been glued to this thread for months checking at least a couple of times a day. I couldn't get a pre order happening anywhere.
Looks like no Super Blue Caly Jr for me. The original Caly Jr was my first Spyderco, and the only Spydie that I've ever lost... still miss it dearly.

I'm a bit pissed that I marked "Email me" For this model on BladeHQ, and they didn't email me...
Sold out of everywhere, should of just bought one on Ebay for 95 bucks when I had the chance.
Oh well, on to the next. When is the m4 Yojimbo 2 coming out.

As I said earlier in this thread... BladeHQ sold out in less than a minute. By the time you would have finished reading their email, they would have been sold out. When sprints/exclusives go this fast, the only way to get in on one (other than resellers) is to put in a pre-order very early with a site that accepts them like KnifeCenter often does, or get lucky and refresh a distributors page at the right time and already have your credit card info pre-loaded.

I had my credit card pre-loaded and had my BladeHQ order completed within 30 seconds of them being available and I'm STILL concerned I may end up missing out. Just the way it goes sometimes.

If this is a 1200 pc run then it's nowhere close to being sold out. Also sprint runs are generally released in batches so this was more than likely just the first wave. Does anyone know exactly what pc run this is?

^I was thinking the same thing Spydergirl, a 1,200 piece run is probably correct and there's no way they're already gone. They may continue to go really go fast, but there should be many more chances out there to snag one.

Clearly they are not completely gone yet. Other retailers have not released their stocks, yet.

I am looking forward to comparing it to the chaparral frn.

No way these are sold out. A couple dealers have listed stock but most have not. I would be surprised if even 10% of them are sold out.

Spyderco trickles these out to dealers. The high volume dealers get more than one shipment. We don't know exactly how Spyderco allocates them to dealers but I suspect they are trying to be fair to the dealers and that there is a method to the madness.

Shoot, folks were acting like the REX45 Para2s were gone in a day and it took over a week. Pretty much every sprint trickles out over the course of about two weeks. I haven't snagged one of these Calypsos yet and could have once already yet I am not worried in the least.

The Lum tanto went by just as quickly

Months of anticipation for a few minute frenzy
I remember how I had a few months to ponder over my grey vg10 Calypso purchase

At this point with how fast they're selling out, I just hope none of the sites have been overselling. My BladeHQ transaction is still processing a few hours later... The last two knives I've purchased from them (HAP40 Wharncliffe and M4 Para 3) finished processing within an hour and I had a tracking number moments later.
Same here... I called up BladeHQ right after my order went through and spoke with a rep who stated that once the order is accepted then the inventory is reserved for you, and even looked up my order and gave same reassurance again. I'll uncross my fingers once I get a shipping notice...
Just got a shipping notice from BladeHQ, check your email. :)

Samesies! Thanks friend, feeling relieved. :) :spyder:

Sending my best wishes and good luck to those still on the hunt. I would love to try for a backup, but I'd honestly rather everyone who wants one gets one (nevermind it will keep the blood pressure down...)

Yep, I received my notice about the same time. I'm really excited about finally being able to try Superblue and a classic Spyderco model at the same time.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

I've got all the website open and I'm refreshing occasionally so I'll do my best to give you guys a shout out if I see something in stock.

Some site called CountryKnives has them in stock right now, but it looks like they're some price gouging jerks. $120 there.
