Mine had a super smooth action but 2 of the clip screws broke while removing the clip so it’s headed back in the mail tomorrow. The folks at knifecenter so far are top notch and even asked me if I have any special requests for the replacement. Looking forward to putting this one through some use.
Returned to dealer because you broke clip screws??
Are they going to fix it and return it to you, or keep it and sell it to someone else, or return it to Spyderco, or... ?

When I was loosening the screws the first one came out fine, the next two just snapped. The heads came out but the rest of the screw was stuck in the scale. I’d imagine they’ll send back to Spyderco. I did try reaching out to Spyderco directly the last 3 days with no response so I figured I’d see if the vendor could assist and they were happy to.

If I had a drill press I would try to extract them myself but not having the proper tools I wasn’t about to mar up a brand new expensive knife.

I'm curious why the pm3 is more expensive than the pm2?

Can any owner please post pics of the slim sides? Are there visible steel liners?

KC added even a promo vid, but through the entire clip they only show the side view...

I'm thinking it comes down to volume. The tooling for the PM2 has been around for quite a while now, while the Para3 is relatively new. I imagine they're still making more of the PM2's compared to the PM3 as well.

I've been tempted by this one a couple times now, but the non-stainless nature of the blade steel has been holding me back. I live between two bodies of salt water, in a very humid area, so I worry that I'm going to have corrosion issues.

Of course, as I long as I don't carry it at work, my Case Stockman in CV seems to do okay around here.

If this were the case I would assume all P3s would be more expensive than their PM2 counterparts.

Ah, you're right. I guess that shoots that theory right out of the water!

If nobody can drop any pics, can you at least tell whether or not there are steel liners visible under those gorgeous CF scales? Like (from my memory) on the Chappi, or the Manix2 Cru-Wear sprint?

I don’t have one yet so I can’t post pics but I can assure you this knife has stainless liners.

Thanks. Looks like the steel liners don't go all the way to the scales' edges but are nested. I know, most people will appreciate the weight reduction, but to me that's a bummer. :( I prefer the looks of them shining under the scales...

Would someone mind posting side by side comparison pics of this and the S90V CF variant? I have the 52100 in the mail and am familiar with :spyder:'s peel-ply cf, but have not seen the "textured" carbon fiber in person before. They are different, correct?

I have both S90V and 52100 Para 3 models.
See pictures above.

The CF is identical with same texture and appearance.
Only difference is the S90V has silver stainless clip and 52100 has black clip.

Lol. Things change quick for me in Spydieville. I have moved away from any carbon fiber scales in favor of G10 and FRN, so my preference for any future 52100 knife is the Gray G10 / DLC 52100 combo from Knifeworks. I would love to see a Native, Military, and Para 3 in that one.
