The second shot is for David. The blade on the right is the CF S90V Yojimbo 2. The middle is a standard S30V Yojimbo 2, but it's newer than the CF S90V, and as you can see, it's thin like the brown S90V exclusive on the left.

It could be a fluke, but both newer blades are noticibly thinner than the older CF version.
Nice photos :)

I did not take a pic, but did compare my CF/S90v to the new one and the grinds seemed identical. What I did see was that the older one appears to be a tiny bit longer through the tip than the new one. It was close, though. I figured maybe it had something to do with grinding a straight line to a narrow point - if things are not lined up perfectly you (the machine) can get slight deviations?

Thank you Mike. One of my favorite folding knife designs of all time. Anyone who holds or uses one of these knives can feel how much time and thought went into the design. Glad to see it getting the attention it deserves.

That's excellent news Sal! You just made my day! Any chance the trainer is sitting on your desk next to an S110V Yojimbo 2? ;)

Sounds great Sal. Maybe a MBC class would be fun?! :spyder:

I honestly did like the brown and black, but I just couldn't resist turning it into the Yojimbo 2 I've always wanted. It went smoothly, no issues. I can confirm the brown one only had two washers, not four like someone suspected earlier in the thread.

I'm carrying my new brown Yojimbo 2 today for the first time. This is also my first Y2 and I think it's a super cool design and the color scheme absolutely works on this one. Very happy that it's S90V, such a great steel. I like to put deep carry clips on a lot of my knives but this will stay stock. The black clip looks great, and I understand that leaving a good portion of handle exposed out of the pocket allows for better deployment, if necessary. Basically just echoing what others have previously said, especially that if you want one get it now, because they're going fast. :spyder:

Are the liners on the black one also black?

I'm a fan of coyote handles. ^^ That looks sweet with the satin blade.

The all black just looks right. It's like a nice black tux. Heck I'd even call it classy looking.

And no, the liners are not black, nor are the pillars. This is a bummer but at least the liners are nested and you can't see any of that with the knife in your hand. I'm still going to look into Cerakote for mine.

I honestly have never had a DLC blade. Does the DLC keep a clean line when it comes time to reprofile? (As opposed to getting jagged or rough where you cut into it.) Does it clog up your stones noticeably more than an uncoated blade?

It grinds just fine. If anything it gets a little less black right at the very edge where you grind but a little WD40 or other type of oil tends to darken it back up just like G10. I never noticed any stone clogging, you're not removing enough coating for that to happen. It can and will scratch but my experience is that it's more scratch resistant than most other blade coating, certainly more so than Cerakote and way more than the usual black coating they use on pocket clips (though they're getting better at that too). It's the kind of thing you need to be able to appreciate when it starts showing wear. My only gripe is not being able to grind on the blade, so for example if you chip the tip on this one you won't be able to grind down the spine to fix it without grinding off the DLC. That part really sucks.

Mine DLT Yo2s are "out for delivery" as we speak. I did something I rarely do: bought two. This might be the first knife to ever jump off the screen at me in such a way to compel me to buy one for now, one for later :) I may sell the extra; we'll see how it goes.
I'll post some pics but I work in an office so I don't want to freak out my colleagues.
