#1

Post by Surfingringo »

I've been using the lc200n mule in the kayak for awhile now and today I made a quick video. I'm not much of a video guy so this is nothing special and not much info but here ya go.

Have you had a chance to sharpen yours yet SG?

Sharpened many times and reprofiled already. I've been working with this steel in other knives for a couple of years now. It takes a nice edge at any finish. Very aggressive at 600-1200 and takes a pretty nice polish if you're into that. Grinds quite easy when reprofiling too.

Nicely done on the video, mate. Looks like you're having one heck of a good time too. :) I'm curious how thin behind the edge you have on your Mule?

Nice fish Lance. The Cero mackerel are mo betta than a Kingfish or Spanish. Haven't used my LC200 Mule yet. Should'a got it out and cleaned some specks I caught today. Didn't think about it as I haven't put scales on yet. Appreciate the pics and videos.

Nice fish Lance!

With any luck we'll see a dedicated fixed blade fishing/bait knife in LC200N.

I'd love to see something similar to the Sprig in LC200N. :)

Sounds like Spyderco needs to offer some alternative hardware for the mule scales. Maybe someone could source some brass or Ti hardware and really make it a rustproof package.
Current collection: ZDP-189 Delica 4, S110V PM2, St. Nick's 4v Para 3, H1 sheepsfoot Manbug, Kapara, VG-10 Dragonfly, ATS-55 Serrated Delica, ZDP-189 MT04 (not broken yet) + Other non spydercos.

Definitely.

You could easily make the LC200N mule into a dive knife.

Brass would get green very fast. H-1 or LC200N would be best. Match the blade steel to prevent galvanic issues, though those two are probably so close it wouldn't matter.

Great video and I like how you have the knife there. The fish looks very appetizing. Question for you: Would you want a Spyderco Mule Team Lc200N blade with rubber handle?
