Breaking in Spydercos....

#1

Post by Bladeboy »

As a relatively new spyderco owner, I've noticed people in the various fora talking about breaking in folding knives. Just wondering if there was a set procedure that is recommended to get the knife broken in, or if that is just a euphamism for beating your knife up a little. So, what do you guys do with a new Spyderco?

Sharpen it and lube the pivot joint. Once you have lubed the pivot joint, I put my finger in position for the one handed close. and swing the blade open and closed for about five minutes to get the action nice and loose.
