Delica Lockup Question

#1

Post by satherton »

I recently purchased a Delica '98 to replace my old Delica with the molded clip. For the most part, I am very excited about the improvements that have been made. There is one thing that does concern me. I'm not sure what proper terms should be used, so please bear with me. When the knife is opened, there isn't a smooth transition from the choil to the locking bar. The locking bar is about 1/16th of an inch higher than the blade choil. Also, there is sometimes subtle movement of the blade when first opened. It is almost as if the blade is "settlling" into position. I looked inside of the blade, and it appears as if some of the metal has chipped off where the blade is supposed to lockup. Is this normal for the new model, or should I send this knife to the factory for a checkup? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

After a thorough examination, I can only say that there is something odd with your Delica. My doesn´t look and behave that way.
