Looks awesome!!! What will the final production piece be? Blade steel...handle material...price?

This one's in my prefered size range. Can't wait to see one.

Paul,

This is a subject very dear to me . The blade is about 3 1/8" and made from VG10 steel. Handle is green Almite and about 4 3/8". The liner lock incorporates Spyderco's eccentric pivot and offset arc ramp. Price, who cares? I'm going to buy one even if I have to sell one of the kids .

It'll be missing the bat, but I guess that'll be fine in my drawer...

Competitor to my Calypso jr. Flat grind & vg-10 should make nice slicer.
I'll get one for sure!
I was hoping for bamboos not bats but green will do.

Hmmm... bats... had this weird dream the other night where I was visiting somebody or other and they had this big pet bat and it was really affectionate and all the time trying to land on me, but it was ugly and scruffy and not at all like those southeast Asian fruit bats that are really good looking animals, sort of like lemurs, once you get used to those big leathery wings.

Maybe if we could find somebody with a laser engraving setup to do fry a bat image into the green almite handle for a price?

James,

I'm reminded of a dinner party once, with a lady who was husbanding a small suburban colony of fruit bats. She was caring for an abandoned baby and was keeping it inside her sweater for warmth. It was most disconcerting to be trying to carry on a conversation and keep looking her in the eye, when what appeared to be a third breast kept moving around her chest. Even more so when it finally moved up to her neck and was seen to have a little cute, furry face . IIRC it's claws were as sharp as Spydies (knife content ).

Zapping the "Pheen-Fook" or Bat in Cantonese, onto the blade handle doesn't sound that bad... Or perhaps having some engraved by the folks from Santa Fe Stoneworks would sound really awesome. I guess Mr. Lum's latest masterpiece would be a hit! Personally, I'll go for the dragon or tiger on Lum's Chinese folder...
