MBC?
i know this sounds stupid but what exactly does that mean i know it stands for matrial blade craft but what does it mean?
Effective self defense choosing and using a sharp object. Usually taught as a varying and escalating use of force - deflect an attack and run if possible, disarm an attacker and run if possible, wound an attacker and run if possible, kill an attacker, etc.
Most competent instructors feel that situational awareness is the key to successful MBC - ie - don't get cold-cocked, jumped, surprised.
Effective use of a knife, (grip, retaining the knife, angles of striking, etc) are also taught.
Footwork, balance, and using your whole body - kicks, punches, head butts, kneeing, biting, spitting, eye gouges, and calling your attacker's mother names are also felt to be an integral part of MBC. LOL
Great instruction from competent teachers (Bram, Michael Janich and James Keating) is highly suggested!
Please take this as a bit of humor - I've been sick!
