...to become a Spyderco Knut? I have the Gunting now, with two Chinooks coming my way. May I be a Spyderco Knut with all you with only two different Spyderco's???

I think it's more a state of mind than how many Spydrco's you own.

Dude,
You don't need many Spydies. As long as you carry one everyday for your chores, maintain it with Tender, Loving and Care, you are already a Spydernut at heart...

While I agree that it is a state of mind, for my personal standard, have decided I need to have enough to put one in every realistic pocket. A couple pairs of my jeans -- cheap ones -- have such a small watch/change pocket a dime and a nail clipper fill it beyond capacity -- buy my better jeans have 5 pockets. Soon will be there. Have decided my CRKT Companion will do for my belt. Need a bit more utilitarian edge than either of the Morans. Besides, have ordered a Normark sheath! (Miss those smilies now and then!)

Only trouble is, have been thinking about trousers with cargo pockets. And, I keep wondering/worrying about a kneck (knut spelling) knife. Just when are we going to see one of those, huh?

There are stages for knife knuts...

1, testing
2, some insanity
3 carried on body at all time, higher level of insanity
-1 of 3 from one company: utility use
-2 of 3 from one company: knut
-3 of 3 from spyderco: spydernut
-4 of the 3 from spyderco, spydiefreak.
(what, haven't we told you about hiding them?)

To be a spydieknut, it only takes a love of quality and customer relations.
WE have a few among us with only 1. We all have to start somewhere.

****, I got my delica just about 2 yrs ago. Bought one more in Feb, one in March...
Adding another one after the Auto Im saving up for... $450. Opens either manual, or via a hidden release...

Hi VampyreWolf,

I visited the Cutting Edge store in Saskatoon about a week ago, for about ten minutes. I arrived on a monday just minutes before they closed at six o'clock enroute from Edmonton to Winnipeg. After talking to the helpful dude (wasn't either Frank or Darren) and drooling over their excellent stock of Spydies, I decided to tour the Regina shop on my return trip. Alas, this was not meant to be...my schedule would have put me in there after THEY closed too.

Well, there will be other times. Thanks for the directions and guidance. I appreciate your help.

Cheers, Jeff/1911.

It takes only one. That's why it's so important not to give in to peer pressure. Often dealers will offer the first Spydie at reduced price, just to get you hooked. This country's war on Spydies just isn't working. I didn't try my first Spydie until I was 24. Up until that point I lived a normal life. Now everywhere I go I'm always looking for a fix. I search back alleys on the internet looking for good deals. I wear Spyderco logo clothing. I have Spyderco stickers plastered over personal items. I can quit anytime I want.

My name is Doug, and I'm a Spyderholic. :D

Actually, I don't even think you need to OWN one... I was hooked on this forum for MONTHS before I actually took the plunge and bought my first Spyderco... going over the SFO over and over again trying to decide which one to buy... and of course I had to buy TWO by then... and now I'm on this forum everyday... I'm still really new to the knife world, but I feel like I got quite a bit of info just from reading the forum. Thanks to everyone for helping me decide (SS Harpy with serrated edge and titanium handle Lum tanto with straight edge... couldn't be happier!)

I'll have to agree with "fyremedic" about not needing to even OWN one.

That said, I do have five (Delica serrated, Dragonfly serrated, Cricket aluminum, Ladybug, Dyad Jr.) but the only one I carry all the time is the Dragonfly.

I've found the same kind of relationship between quality of the product/devotion of users/friendliness of users that I've found in the Macintosh community. ( Now, all you PC people don't need to harass me ).

Anyway, just my two cents worth: I've owned lots of different knives over the years, and Spyderco is the only brand I've ever owned more than one of, and actually, its pretty much the only thing I use now- and I've sold a lot of contacts and friends on them just by using mine (you'd be surprised how many customers at our Mac store ask about that knife when I pop open a box for them).

That's all for now!

Once you've touched the hole, you're hooked! When I bought my first Spydie an Endura, I realized I finally owned a quality knife. Right now I have about thirty and I'm still looking for more. Just this week I got an engraved cricket, a worker with inlay, a carbon fiber civi, a chinese lum, and a police tie clip. Man that liitle police has some wicked serrations. Am I hooked? Oh Yeah
