Re: SFO and what to expect

Since you mentioned being interested in the CF Chap, I’ll say if you’re at all interested in the Raffir version, visiting SFO is a great way to pick one up. When I was last there in Jan, Charlynn and Candy both helped me pick from about 10 in stock, and I got to ensure a sweet pattern. Regardless, i...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Got a Rhino inbound. Wasn’t convinced I’d pick one up this early, if at all, but the early reports sold me on it. The recent eBay coupon helped too. :D

Looking forward to it joining my other LBKs. :spyder:

Re: Three methods for closing Spyderco lockbacks one handed

I use methods 1 and 2 interchangeably, but like you guys I go to the spine with either my index finger or thumb for the finish.

I do the same with index finger moving to the spine to close.

I use method 1 except my thumb does not go to the hole, it goes to the spine of the blade.

Got through surgery successfully today, and on my return home had a nice package waiting for me. :D This will keep me company while I’m on couch ...

Re: Chaparral Handle Materials

Pakkawood and Micarta instantly. Also just other metals like brass and copper. Basically this. Less interested in stainless, but brass and copper could allow for some interesting patina options. Micarta and Pakkawood would be likely buys for me. Maybe G10, if as noted a few comments above it had a ...

Fair point, might have to consider that.

On another note, as a Slysz afi, the Techno 2 is an auto buy for me. I actually like having a version with a thinner stock, and switching to green standoffs is a nice touch.

Re: 2mo's With the Chaparral LW

Nice write up. The Chaparral was a pleasant surprise for me. I picked up a Raffir Noble version for a dressier gent carry option, but after I realized how much I loved the profile, the LW FRN became a no-brainer for me. Excellent EDC slicer that gets a lot of pocket time with me.
