Re: G10 Color for SPY27 Models

The cobalt blue G10 PM2 in SPY27 is one of my most anticipated knives in years. I like cobalt blue and I like how SPY27 takes a sticky sharp edge in no time. It’s a very serviceable steel and it performs much like S45VN from my limited experience.

Re: What knife do you actually carry and use the most?

Living in Germany (and having most knife-use around the house) there is quite a difference for me between 'most carried' and 'most used'. Most carried: - UKPK BD1N drop point in yellow FRN scales (outside-work-carry) --> eventually a Spy27 or Magnacut UKPK MAY replace it - Urban BD1N in black FRN s...

Re: What knife do you actually carry and use the most?

For this year, these two. 15V PM2 and MagnaCut Small Sebenza. The Sebenza in general probably gets the overall most used nod for the past few years, though previously I was using a couple S45VN ones. With apologies to Spyderco, I still think the small Sebenza is the ultimate form of the every day c...

SS Dragonfly clipless drop in pocket. Either PE or SE. I think it’s the best Spyderco ever designed. Comfortable, unobtrusive, big enough for most jobs. Been into knives forever, and the DF outworks them all.
Indeed. Sal’s best design ever IMO.

EU reliable online knife sellers

For us europeans(EU) reliable online sellers are quite scarce. When UK left EU I lost one of my most reliable shops. I am talking HH. Despite their high prices the guys from HH are a joy to do business with. I am left with only a few choices lately. We must pay premium prices for our spydies anyway ...

Re: The Spyderco CULT CLASSICS Survey

I voted with a comment, the Smock has all ready a cult following and is alive and kicking. No offense but I don't understand why the Ayoob would be considered to be a cult classic :winking-tongue

Re: Para 3 LW Spy27 vs. Delica 4 K390

Para3 in SPY27 would be your best bet.The compression lock is superior to the backlock, especially to the Seki backlock and SPY27 is an awesome allaround steel, stainless, easy to maintain and a dream to sharpen. I own both and my advice is : go with the Para3 and don’t look back.

Re: What are your top 5 favorite steels?

I really like LC200N due to the ease of sharpening, but.....Edge Stability. Curious, because I always heard LC200N was tough. Does the edge roll or chip easily? I haven’t abused mine to have any opinion yet. All this talk of K390 makes me want to try some also It's pretty tough in my experience, bu...

Re: New UKPK imminent?

I only wish they implement the full lenght back spring and the washers in the lightweight variant. I would also be in heaven if they decided to grind them thinner bte. The K390 Urban should be the norm. The UKPK is one of Sal's more refined designs and it deserves the best. Can't wait for the Metrop...

Re: New UKPK imminent?

Heinnie Haynes S45VN and red G10 a possibility? HH would be daft not to release another UKPK exclusive because they sell out super fast. I buy one every time they release them (3 times in total now - 2 leafs and 1 drop point) I personally would have liked to have seen the orange G10 and Rex45 when ...

Re: Lil’ temperance in k390

Man, there were some great deals on this knife. I have the VG10 version and love how it feels in hand. I was tempted to get this one, but ultimately decided against it. I don't find myself with cutting tasks that my current version can't handle. Still, what a great knife. Holding is believing. How ...

Re: Lil’ temperance in k390

I picked up a Lil’ Temperance 3 LW with K390 during the Black Friday sales. It’s a great knife in this configuration. I really like the handle shape and feel. Blade is utilitarian with thick stock. Spydie flicks are quick. Closing by compressing the lock is easy enough but requires more concentrati...
