Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

The Manix is a tough knife. Same stock thickness as the XL in a shorter blade. I don't recommend chopping and batoning with a folder, but if that's what you decide to do, there are a lot worse choices than a Manix. HI Vivi, I agree with all of that. The Manix is a tough knife. Yet I don't think it ...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

What exactly is it about the stock reinforced durable plastic cage that you find so offensive, that it requires replacing? The same cheap plastic feeling cage that has never failed or to perform it's duty, as far as I am aware. Or it is just your perception of the quality of how the knife feels? Or...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Continuing the drift away from talking about 15V and moving on to prissy trinkets. I get tempted to get one of those ball cages in some kind of metal. A pretty expensive experiment for north of $30, but I still might. I am thinking I will give brass a try. Everyone just has to have titanium, but not...

you know there are people there right? people that have nothing to do with the politics of the place they were born? people that are just trying to survive and provide a life for their families like everyone else in the world? When did I mention people? Is china selling people now too? You know I w...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Well, here I am holding my 15V Manix. I am sort of awed by the whole thing. I think it is nothing short of astounding that Spyderco does things like this. I am particularly glad to see this in the Manix platform. Like I have said 100 times on this forum, when I first looked at the Manix I thought, &...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

I tried a preorder once (not from BladeHQ) and it was my worst knife buying experience ever! I sat there watching outfits with the knife I wanted in stock and kept waiting for my preorder (which never did get filled). I finally canceled it and grabbed an available knife. Never again. NEVER. The root...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Just got an in-stock notification from BladeHQ, but when I went to the site it was out of stock. Their notification system is buggy... same, earlier today I got a notification, but less than 10 minutes after the email popped they were OOS. I think I have gotten 3 notifications from BladeHQ and each...

Re: ** 15v Manix2 Alerts Only Thread ** This is the wrong thread for discussion :)

Back at Sooner State knives... Towards the bottom of this page... (Not on the Dealer Locator list)... http://www.soonerstateknives.com/newitems.html That store seems a bit suspect, it looks like 20 year old technology, which maybe can't account for live in-stock availability. I hope I'm wrong and a...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Don’t worry, I won’t sell what I don’t want to. 👍🏼👍🏼 Actually I think I did notice you offering to possibly (maybe) sell a second knife if it came your way, which would be very nice of you if all that takes place. And I apologize for being a bit of a smart-ass. It got me thinking about times I have...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

So you are the "someone" Rymanz. Thanks. So today is a good day for the Manix 2. This one is on the way and the one I thought I lost is sitting next to me right now. I need to find some way to celebrate. I’m the only poster between you and Rymanz’s last post. Are you addressing me with th...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

OK, success. Thanks to all who helped. I took my first look at the alert thread, it mentioned a 199 offer from an Ebay seller with 100 percent feedback and claiming to be an "authorized reseller" and jumped on it. Free shipping. Someone came into the thread to say the seller was legit for ...

Re: Manix jimping poll

Current production suits me just fine. I suppose that is either option 2 or 3 as originally presented. I have carried and used the Manix for years and have never had any objection to the jimping. I like my knives rough as a cob in general.

Wow! Thanks for all of that. And explained in enough detail that even I can manage it!!

I suppose that I could subscribe thusly to both this thread as well as the "official" alert thread.

Thanks, and wish me luck.

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

Who ever said this was an alert thread? The first posting simply says:

"Lets just start a thread to talk about it."

I suppose people who have somehow set this up to alert them have begun to use it as such..... I wonder how that works.

Re: Good new, Bad news (Manix 2 lost, now found)

Yes. You really appreciate something when you think it is gone (or when it actually is). So all those days of fretting over it and looking for it set you up to feel great when you find it. I have heard a number of stories about pocket clips and straps (often seat belts). I was looking under seats an...

Good new, Bad news (Manix 2 lost, now found)

First the good news. I found my lost Manix 2 !! This is red G10 with CPM-20CV steel. It is one of my regular carry knives because I figure the bright red color will make it harder to set down and walk away from. It vanished last week just after a hike and I was convinced it had fallen out of my pock...

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2

This is certainly a tough one. I have gotten various email notices of being in stock, but I think you have to respond to the beep on your phone and get there in seconds or they are out of stock. If I had my phone set up to beep on every email arrival, I would go crazy. It just ain't worth it. I'm al...

Since seconds sale is not something I ever had access to, I was very pleasantly surprised to see it opened online for the world ! Wow! I never knew and have always ignored it figuring it meant a long drive from Arizona to Colorado followed by a lot of standing in line in extreme cold weather (anyth...

Re: Does your Spyderco knife passion depend on acquiring more?

Well this can be a question about all of life. The Spyderco knife acquisition "thing" is just a microcosm of all of life! Seriously, another hobby of mine is mineral collecting. I am into tiny things I look at with a microscope. But I have talked with some friends and watched other collect...
