Knife rules for Virginia?
May be moving from NJ to Virginia sometime in next year or too... any one know of any rules re knives I should know of? I'm assuming no place is as restrictive as NJ (except maybe NYC) so I imagine everything that is ok here would be okay there, but any VA members please let me know? Thanks... Loner...

Re: Do you keep your Spyderco boxes?
I keep some. I never thought much about it... i think the positron is the only one I keep IN the box. The others are either thrown out or piled in a corner of a cabinet. I should probably throw them away.

Single folding knife, sometimes with multitool (the multitool is for bike stuff, allen keys, etc.)

questions about serrated blades...
So... got my 2nd native5. This one is half serrated and also has a dark coating. Some questions..
I've never had a serrated blade before... I like it, but how do you sharpen it?
2nd, how durable is the coating?
btw this is an s35vn version...

I like it I like it.
But am I the only one who thinks it reminds me of the toucan from the froot loops commercial when I was a youngster?

Re: Guys who put lanyards on your knives, why?
I don't have any on my spydercos now but at one point I did on the standard delica. The idea was it made it a little easier to pull it out when wearing gloves. I honestly think for some people it is more of a style thing. That said, I was once using my knife to cut some stuff in the woods surrounded...

Re: What would make you buy more Spyderco fixed blades?
The main advantage to a fixed blade in use (aside from strength etc.) seems to me to be removing the extra motion of folding and unfolding. As I found out this year when cutting cord to bundle up downed tree branches, its a pain to pull out the knife, unfold it, use it, close it, pocket it,then repe...

Re: Which Spyderco fits you?
Yeh the "murder stroke" is turning it around and hitting with the handle. It's risky with a sharps if it slips you can get cut. Halfswording a thrust with the point is easier I've done that into archery targets, and other inanimate targets, barehanded. On pocketknife blades... I'd be afrai...

Re: Which Spyderco fits you?
Fair enough. And i have actually halfsworded a sharp longsword against cutting targets barehanded but never one as sharp as an ffg delica lol.
I imagine i would be reluctant to do it in any hard-use cutting, probably fine for opening boxes...
