Re: Paramilitary 2 left-handed version

So, I jumped on the Cruwear PM2 when it came out, just in time to learn about the upcoming lefty version. Problem for me is as much as I want a lefty, I can't see an s30v bumping my Cruwear out of pocket. But I can't see it making sense for Spyderco to make a premium steel version not knowing how we...

Re: How about increasing the blade length of the Dragonfly 2?

Never sure if this guy is serious or stirring the pot? Regardless, threads like this are good, gives Spyderco feedback and suggestions on what we would like to see, look at Jazz and the wharnie delica! I myself have suggested tweaking some models as well. I thought'd be good to see a Manix2 with a s...

Re: Sticky deployment on pm2

I mentioned in another thread that my Cruwear had a stronger detent too. It is my hope that it is part of cqi and we will see it on future pm2's and other models as well. Stronger the detent the better as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Traditionals?

In my experience, GEC is at the top of the traditional food chain right now. If I were you I'd be patient and wait for GEC to get around to making something you really like. You can try your luck picking one up on one of the exchanges.

Re: My Mantra May Not Make it Out of the Box

My Mantra flips open fast and smooth, lockup is perfect yet drops freely with lockbar disengaged. I will say that if I close it slowly with as little pressure as possible, I indeed feel the little bumps that must be on the washers, (I've not opened it to see). This does not effect the action whatsoe...

Re: Unabridged Unapologetic Case for the Para Military 2 Left Hand *

Oh sure, I grab a Cruwear just to find out a lefty is coming. I can't see it bumping the CW out of pocket. I guess I'll just hope they sell out before I can get one or hope they don't make their way to Canadian dealers because im pretty sure I'll grab one if I can anyway : /

Re: SpyderMonkey

I like it, probably flat over scandi for me as well, but it looks like it would be a good bushcraft design with the scandi. Tip up left hand carry, and flush pivot if it ever does get a redesign and a second look from Sal. The Wolfspyder doesn't appeal to me at all. It looks like it would be very un...

Re: Tenacious rusting :(

Keep my tenacious in my truck, we get +40 Celsius and humid to -40 here and never a spot of rust on it. Put away wet a number of times too. Action has stayed smooth as silk too. I don't know why I don't really carry it actually!? The only spydies I've had rust on are, my Mantra and m4 is not exactly...

Not really an "odd" hobby but a hobby none the less. I play around with scrap materials and make pendants and such. Sold a few but mostly for fun and gifts.

Re: Spyderco folding beard comb?

Probably not much of a market but it would still be neat! Guess I'll stick with my cheapo, it is just a comb anyways! Nice mod spyderg! Thanx. No mod here though. Made it all myself, comb from scrap metal, made the red lined denim micarta in the garage from my old jeans and and old ribbon, even the...

Re: Spyderco folding beard comb?

I made my own a while back. Don't use it much but made it for fun. I saw the headesign or whatever it's called for a redonkulous amount, it's nice but I'd never spend that kind of cash on a comb, no matter how cool.

Re: A patina expected and unexpected... cpm m4 vs s110v (pics)

My GB formed a pretty even light patina, never any rust. I figured the same would happen with my Mantra, wrong. Rust first sweaty day. Cleaned up fine and I forced a patina and it's been fine since. Strange how the same steel from the same company can behave so differently. I will say the ground sur...

Re: Slight rust on M4 spine...

On my GB I have never seen a spot of rust. It developed a patina slowly and never any rust. When I got my Mantra I wasn't at all worried because of experience with the GB. Well, first day carrying it and sweating = rust on exposed part of the blade. Ok, I pulled out some fine steel wool and got rid ...

Re: One-handed pocketing

I have a couple of knives that can be a little finicky going back on my pocket but it doesn't really bother me as I often need to get my knife out in a hurry but rarely need to get it back in my pocket in any sort of a rush. I actually usually leave my clipped knife where it is and use a slipjoint o...

Re: Spyderco C81GPGY2 Paramilitary 2 CRU-WEAR

Mine arrived yesterday. Had to loosen the pivot just a touch, while I was at it, it needed a drop of lube as the detent ball seemed a little "chalky". Smooth as silk now. On the subject of the detent, mine is noticeably stronger than on my older PM2, this is very much a welcomed improvemen...
