Re: EDC Neck Knife: ARK, Subway, or Swick?
Rob Simonich (RIP Ranger) most likely learned the ball chain/paracord trick while serving in the Army. My Dog Tags were set up that way. Cuts down on noise, light reflection, and isn't cold against your skin. The reason you leave the breakaway section, and not just use paracord is so you don't get h...

Re: Men's Belts?
I pretty much use 2 types of belts: https://www.hanksbelts.com/collections/leather-gun-belts/products/hanks-gunner-stitched-concealed-carry-belt My wife got me the above Hank's Gunner belt as a Christmas gift. I was not happy with the web belt I had for concealed carry - too much velcro. The Hank's ...

Re: Tactical Pens Revisited
A pencil can be used for self defense. Tactical pencil! One can get titanium Chopsticks! Tactical Chopsticks!! My wife has metal chopsticks... Probably some kind of stainless steel. I bet they'd do some damage! Kinda like women's hat pins. ;) Ever seen a hat pin? :flushed Or how about these hair pi...

Re: Tactical Pens Revisited
I work at a hospital - if I lay a nice pen down it will grow legs. I have one nice pen that could work as a "tactical pen" - my Flying Tigers Retro 51 Tornado pen. It's solid & would work fine as an improvised kubotan. Added bonus is that it's a pen first and has no "tactical"...

Re: Knives everyone should try (Under $100)
If you like small folders I suggest you check out the Civivi Baby Banter. Mine has become my go-to work EDC. Feels good in my L/XL hand, but small enough no one makes a big deal out of me having a pocketknife.

Watched the temp here in NW Georgia get down to 10 degrees/-2 with wind chill last night. I don't even think it got that cold back during the Blizzard of '93.

Re: All I want for Xmas
I'd like a Lil'Temp LW with a SE. Unfortunately, I just had to buy a new/used car for my youngest son who hydroplaned Thanksgiving night and totaled his. Thankfully he was unharmed.

Re: What Is In Bar Keepers Friend?
Oxalic acid. It's a chelating agent, it reacts with iron which makes it very effective for cleaning rust and steel off ceramic and porcelain. You should avoid prolonged skin contact and I'd advise against snorting it. I can't tell you first hand that YAB isn't kidding you about wearing protective g...

My oldest son is 4th generation Left-Handed. He pretty much doesn't think about it. Granted his Para 3 LW is easy to open left-handed, and so are the back locks.

Yea her name was Simona, and I always enjoyed her posts. Yes she was easy on the eyes, but I enjoyed her posts because they offered a different & unique viewpoint then your typical male poster. Additionally, her pics were very well done. And a good point was made that the forum has become less m...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought
But nothing can compare to the feel of a P225 in hand, at least for me. It is the one gun I wish I would have jumped on when I had my chance at one at a great price. I'm on my second one. Bought my 1st around 1992. Sold it around 1992 to fund a custom Beretta Elite II. Around 1994 I traded into ano...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought
Well went by the gun/pawn store today & paid off my new pistol - Springfield Hellcat Pro. Decided to step into the new world of compact handguns with full size capacity that can mount red dot sights. My old go-to handgun has been a Sig P225. This almost doubles the capacity & a red dot sight...

Re: Long Timers: How has this forum changed?
Been around a bit, some of my observations: Biggest change I've noticed is the technical discussion of the various steels. Before it was just basic discussion with anecdotal information. Now you get scientific information & a metallurgical breakdown of the steel. Tactical/Self-Defense - always s...

Re: The Elephant In The Reveal (besides the BBB Manix): The Lil Temperance LW Price
We've built some very expensive knives over the years. Often expecting to only go one run. But to be able to make it ad offer it to our customers, just because we can , was always the motivation for making these odd expensive models. It wasn't a labor of money, but a labor of passion . sal I like t...
