Re: CPM 10v ish steels?

Its true name is Weartec SF It's similar to Vanadis 10 but with lower percentages of elements I still haven't tried psf27 but I hear good things about SF and how the edge keeps alot of aggression. I have tried psf59 in a knife of a friend of mine but I can't find differences from 10v in cutting and...

It would be interesting to see a knife in Weartec.
What advantage would it offer over 10v, A11, k294, k390, Vanadis 8 extra, Vanadis 10 extra?
For this I would like a knife in weartec: I would like to see if a SF acts better or worse than a PM/ingot

Re: HAP 72 or CPM REX 121 Spydie

It has nothing to do with it, but Rockstead will soon start production in HAP72, @69hrc
They haven't put them yet on the market because they are looking for a way to lower prices, but when they come out one will surely be mine, at the cost of selling my girlfriend :p

Re: UHC - Ultra High Carbon steel sprint run

@Stuman Have you tested the Rockwell? Hi there MasterChiefPink. Yeah I did test it. It’s rockwell is 65.5 HRC Which is around what I expected. It’s really good steel especially for a billet steel and but it’s properties really was no surprise to me how ever I’d give anything to know exactly what it...

Re: 2018 Spyderco Resolutions

I'm slowly stopping buying knives. I believe that the Hundred Pacer and the various mules that will come out in the future will be the last thing I will buy from Spyderco. In these 5 years I can say that I spent more money in Spydercos than in food. Outside of Spyderco the only things that still int...

Re: Ideas for revamped mule team

My vote would be to use the Sprig as a template, maybe even a little smaller. About 4.5" on the handle with a 3mm thick 3" ffg blade. Bird and Trout designs are very handy. Small enough to edc yet big enough to be useful for many purposes. It would be fabulous for me because i'm the owner...

Re: UHC - Ultra High Carbon steel sprint run

If I'm not mistaken, maxamet should have the same wear resistance of 10v, which is not very far from s90v

Re: UHC - Ultra High Carbon steel sprint run

15V and REX 121 are 3.4% aren't they? Does anything in the knife world have more carbon than those? MPL-1 has 3.8% C :) Wow, I've heard of that stuff but never actually looked up the composition till now. 9% vanadium and insane amounts of chromium and carbon with virtually nothing else. It's almost...

MPL-1 has 3.8% C :)

Moreover, all of the tungsten carbide Sandrin knives definitely contain more carbon.
The diamond blades of the eye surgeons, since they are in diamond are 100% Carbon :)

Re: UHC - Ultra High Carbon steel sprint run

Living in Europe i can have Rosellis without much problems.
What they call Roselli Wootz is a non alloyed 1.5-2% C steel.
It surely isn't true wootz, but my Uhc Rosellis performs well :)

Re: #Walkaway

If you write: HAP40 clad SUS410 clad you're wrong to write HAP 40 clad because it means you have a laminated knife with a core in something and the outer layers in hap 40 or you're wrong to write SUS410 clad because you're saying you have a laminated knife with the core in sus410. Or one or the oth...

I know a company that sold aus8 laminated blades, but now they have stopped, fortunately.
If a SUS410 laminated blade existed anyone who produces such a massacre should be outlawed.
