Re: Coyote Urban/UKPK

Re: Canadian UKPK
Just a thought: I don't own a UKPK, but it appears they are linerless, similar to the Squeak/Pingo. If this is true, I would think making some custom G-10 or Micarta scales would be fairly easy to do... Any chance you could post a picture of a UKPK disassembled? http://utor.de/werkstatt/img/members...

Re: My friend broke another clip....
I can relate Evil D. the clips on just about every flashlight I own are sub standard quality compared to what you typically find on knives. Even cheaper knives. Sorry for the OT but malkoff makes very solid clips with their flashlight, i had the same problem for years and i am very happy with my md...

Re: Show your mods!
thanks jazz! its a piece of plexiglas rod to fix the lock-bar in the handle. the original scales have two molded stands on the inside, which are too difficult to reproduce in the flat slabs of g-10 that i had available. i also like the individual detail it adds to the plain black scales. polished g-...

Re: K390 Offerings
Caly 3 and stretch for me, thank you... both in frn versions (most bang for the buck) and/or (as long as wishes are horses) in old school polished black paper micarta. Yet another option: black paper micarta with tasteful reverse scrimshaw. hmmm, caly in this steel with black micarta scales sounds ...

Re: Show your Swick
hey lieferung, not i am absolutly not professional in doing scales, just starting to learn and tryout a bit. But you do not need a lot of tools or knowledge i think. Some nice wood, expoxy, a belt-grinder and some elbow grease should be enuff for the beginning. and its fun :D http://www.utor.de/urba...

Re: UKPK - Absolute perfection for me
yeah i know ted`s mods, and they were also very inspiring. even if i prefer more defined contours and not the uberergonomic look of the very rounded scales he (mainly) makes. i put a few more pictures in the "show your mods"-thread now.

Re: Show your mods!
i modded a urban with this wood scales. because the wood turned out to be too fragile (or me not working precise enough) to support the axis - see crack in on scale - i decided add steel lines, which added to the weight of the knive, but in my point of view also to its classy appearance. :D looking ...

Re: UKPK - Absolute perfection for me
that are very beautiful slipits in wood, i wanted to have one as well for a long time - but had the idea it should be possible to make my very own. i think the urban is easier to mod then the ukpk. no extra pieces are needed there. i just finished this mod and i will post some more pics in the "...
