Re: Backlock is my favorite lock, even for fidgeting...
A lot discussed here already indeed, but I´ll never get tired if praising the Spyderco mid backlock. For me clearly the best locktype ever, for many reasons (all just MY 2c of course): - Most versatile lock with the most and safest ways of one handed closing ("safe" meaning as well for th...

Re: Backlock is my favorite lock, even for fidgeting...
I really just prefer a good backlock. My regular rotation is Police 4, Endura 4, a variety of Natives, and the Native Chief. We're really lucky to have the Native and Police/Endura/Endela/Delica/Dragonfly product lines - I hope they never go away. But if they do, I'm stocked up ;) My 2 favorite kni...

Backlock is my favorite lock, even for fidgeting...
I know "which lock is best" debates have been done to death, but I think it's important to remind the knife world how much backlocks are enjoyed and appreciated sometimes. In this day and age, it is probably the least used of the common locktypes, and has a reputation for being old fashion...

Re: Sal, Can we get CPM 15v?
B3, congratulations on being so close to the production line. Question is, is that a small or large pouch? Looks like a small one (Chime in if I am wrong) What does that say about the size of the knife? Pouch doesn't look small to me. Taking up a lot of handkerchief real estate in that pic. An aver...

Re: Endela the Native, Shaman = Stretch
I've only been on the forum for a few months but the amount of "I want" posts is staggering. I recognize that part of the purpose of the forum is to get feedback to Spyderco, but the constant demands are a little fatiguing. There is some space between the Chief and Native 5, but I feel li...

Re: Endela the Native, Shaman = Stretch
I have also thought the same thing. We are so spoiled I agree. On the other hand it's not like we're saying we want new variations for free. We are telling a for profit business that we would spend more money with them if they made that. I say that to say that the TenGrainBreads of the world are ki...

Re: Endela the Native, Shaman = Stretch
3.4-3.5 inch Native 5/Native Chief is a knife that needs to exist in some kind of configuration. What say you? The Native Brave ? 3-1/2 blade is a really useful size IMO. I don't own a Native yet because I prefer more edge and less ricasso/choil. I like choils, but I like them best when they're fur...

Re: Endela the Native, Shaman = Stretch
In the same post you said S110V and Maxamet would be fine...and then said the price increase that comes with them, you'd like to avoid. Not sure what to think about that! Was a bit of stream of consciousness going on there. Next time I'll write multiple drafts and revisions before I submit my thesis.

Endela the Native, Shaman = Stretch
Critics of the Endela argued the Stretch already filled the gap between the Delica and Endura. We got the Endela anyway. I want a model in between the Native and the Native Chief, and I don't want to hear about the Shaman. It's clearly a very different knife. Also, I want another steel variation for...

Re: Spyderco Medium Bench Stone - where does it lie ?
To me the fine stone was always the odd man out. I feel like the UF is just a better fine stone, and the medium stone has it's own lane.

I think it's more exciting to get a different HT on a already used steel than a steel with just a different name and less advantages, but the novelty is always exciting :D I would like to try a Military with this steel. That makes two of us  I'm still using and EDCing my M390 Military model. ...

Re: VG-MAX- Tell Shun to give it up
There was a curious steel called 1.2838 that highlights why ingot VG Max is not ideal if the chemistry is correct and it is also a non pm steel. 1.2838, is a high vanadium, high carbon steel roughly like "Super Blue", but with Vanadium thanstead. Right away that will grab a lot of folks a...

VG-MAX- Tell Shun to give it up
Does anyone at Spyderco have any connections at Shun? Shun needs to let Spyderco do some sprints in VG-MAX. Would be good marketing for Shun. That steel looks 🔥. Carbon - 1.1 Chromium - 16 Tungsten - 3.0 Vanadium - 3.0 Molybdenum - 1.5 Cobalt- 2.5 That's a sexy composition. I suppose SPY27 could be ...

Piiiiics please :) Not the best pic but here you go! https://i.imgur.com/qYvz6Uz.jpg It's nice to have a new version of the Sage 1. It's one of the sharper factory edges I've had. Grippy G10 is nice too. It also feels a little smoother than my other Sage 1. That could just be because it's brand new...

Re: K390 Delica HRC?
Is the delica 4 "slicy-er" than the endura 4/police 4? I'd say yes. The Delica has thinner stock, and while the Delica isn't as thin behind the edge as one might expect, most P4s I've seen/heard about came a little thicker bte than the typical 20 thousandths on inch you usually see. I end...

Re: K390 Delica HRC?
(Re: HRC Database Postby EngDevGr3 » Tue Sep 01, 2020 8:06 pm I just got a Delica k390. The results were a bit surprising. It was poked twice, with the results of 66.4 and 66.5 HRC) I found this in the HRC Database thread. Wow, that's good! I just hope the upcoming P4 LW K390 will also be heat trea...
