Hi Harronek, The Delica is a mainstream model. The mainstream prefers stainless steels for general use. ZDP is a stainless steel (though not as corrosion resistant as VG-10). I love it, it's a pretty thick blade it won't cut apples like a thinner ffg will but generally it cuts well, I reprofiled mine to 17 dps
