I don’t think they forge their own blades on site any more, but it’s still a great place to visit.
When we visited a few years ago, the small town had several knife shops and a great knife museum. One of the exhibits included a Spyderco Street Beat.
France has a fantastic pocket knife culture.

Re: Brouwing a Better Brouwer
Interesting thoughts.
Mine (1st iteration) sports a flytanium carbon scale and ti deep carry clip. It’s much lighter and carries better as a result.
It’s a great small knife for those of us with large hands.

Re: Crucarta UKPK?
I have seen custom made traditional slip joints with G10 liners and micarta scales (or G10 scales and micarta covers in traditional speak). That’s a good idea. Is G10/micarta laminate feasible? Whilst I very much like the idea of a Crucarta UKPK, a steel lined version could feel very heavy. It’s in...

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?
Good question. U.K. citizen, so we have hysteria driven - and often bizarre- anti-knife laws. I would still have the SAK alox bantam in my wallet, and still carry the Manbug Wharnie SE around the house at all times. I only ever use my yard work knife N5 m4 on private properly anyway, so no change th...

Re: 2023 - Did your preferences change or stay the same?
1. The Manbug wharncliffe SE remains essential. Its convenience and capability is outstanding. 2. I reconnected with the PITS, having finally aquired the m390 sprint. It is the ultimate production slipjoint. 3. Old designs warrant investigation. I knew this from my og Starmate, but ‘23’s Goddard spr...

What I’m supposed to think … 0-2” Normal 2-3” Large 3+” Dangerously large and illegal to carry without lawful reason blah-blah-blah…🙄 What I do think… Manbug, McBee - Micro Dragonfly / Urban / Squeak - Small Delica, Watu, Stretch, UKPK, PITS - Medium Endura, Goddard, Starmate - Large Police - Extra ...

Looks tasty, Doc!
I remember the Christmas Puddings in glass bowls and muslin cloths being steamed, literally for *days*, in an old laundry steamer in the garage.
Thank goodness for microwaves….

Re: My SE Endura wharnie project.
That’s an excellent mod! I really like the look.
The Endura Wharnie SE is an excellent knife. I was using mine a few weekends ago to cut rolls of compressed rockwool insulation and it turned an awkward task into something easy.
