Re: New Member and some questions!

I use mineral oil. It is inexpensive, safe for cutting food, and best of all... it works. No need to over-think it. I also use the Spyderco Sharpmaker. So far it has worked on every blade steel I have thrown at it: S30V, M4, S110V, S90V, BD1, VG10. After a few swipes on the Sharpmaker, they are back...

I've always wanted a Manix with that grind, but missed out on the original model. And those marbled scales, just wow! This is a great looking knife.

Re: Blade Show West

I just spent a week in Portland for work. Wish I could go back for Blade Show West. I went to Blade this year in Atlanta and had a great time. But there is no way my wife is letting go to another Blade Show this year. My favorite spot in Portland was Double Dragon Restaurant. This picture was my lun...

Re: Calendar contest image collection

Nice work Attila. This makes it much easier to see all of the entries. I don't envy Spyderco's job narrowing it down to 12 pictures. There are enough good ones for several calendars. Trying to guess the eventual winners sounds like a fun game to kill some time, especially since they pushed back the ...

Re: Forum Knife/Forum Calendar - Delays

Thanks for the update Kristi. Sorry to hear the about the scheduling delays. Hope all is going well in Golden. I did get to check out the forum knife at Blade Show and it was AWESOME! It will be well worth the wait.

Re: I definitely DON'T need another Millie, but...

I have the KW Ti/CF and love it. Plus S90V is an awesome steel. The KW Ti/CF has been my daily driver for about 4 months now. I have no trouble quickly getting it back to shaving sharp with the Sharpmaker and a strop. I expected it to be a pain to sharpen from some of the descriptions of the steel I...

Model: Spyderco Manix 2 Translucent Dusk Blue C101PBL2 Entry Description: The Manix fits my hand like a glove. I have lots of Spyderco knives, but this light weight version of the Manix seems to accompany me the most while putzing around the farm. The inspiration for this picture came from my Concor...

Opening up a package... A NEW KNIFE!

Unfortunately it was a Protech TR-5. I would rather be opening up a Spyderco Embassy package but they do not make auto's anymore. So far I am really happy with the TR-5. It melts into the pocket and is a great EDC size.

Re: 2018 Spyderco Forum Knife! Info & Sign-up

I have not heard any updates. I'm hoping we will receive an email in the next 6 days (if the knife is still being released in July 2018) notifying us of the release date.

Re: I want to buy one knife to last me ~10 years

First off, if you buy one Spydie you will be buying several more. Either right away, or after a few months. I second the PM2. It comes in many different steels and colors to fit your needs. You will also like the compression lock. The math also works if you only want one knife for 10 years. Dependin...

How about some pictures? I would like to see the variation from each side and also how close to the edge the laminate is on the bad side.

Re: "Ideal" Size for Compact Survival Knife?

I picked up a TOPS knife at Blade Show this year. It is the Brothers of Bushcraft (B.O.B) model. I went with grey canvas micarta scales on the 154CM version instead of 1095 to have more corrosion resistance. So far I am happy with my selection and do not have anything negative to say about the TOPS ...

Re: Bring back the Dodo!

Just sitting at work on a Friday and thinking of a new Dodo sprint. I would definitely need to purchase the S90V or S110V or LC200N Dodo if that was the next flash batch or sprint run. Even if my fingers weren't made for the lock, I would find a way to make it work. The Dodo is such a cool design.

I have 5, all in different steels and the fully serrated is hard to beat. It gets carried more than the rest.
