I'd suggest using a tooth pic to dig out debris, and a qtip for keeping all the dust out, and I have never oiled mine once, but if its a tool/alloy steel, it may need oiling periodically to prevent corrosion

I'd suggest diamond stones, bench stones can become very expensive as you need to progress through grits, maybe look into Spyderco sharpmaker, or lanskys diamond set

If they can get ahold of k390, I don't see a problem of them getting ahold of m390, b.u. makes both, but the I really liked k390
