But yes the rods will sharpen s110v steel easily, but if also look into lansky diamond guided system, about the same price also or less

Re: Maintaining pm 2 s110v edge with sharp maker

You can maintain your edge with the sharpmaker, but diamonds will help, also the rods are set at 15° 20° dps angles, so if your edge exceeds 41°inclusive it will only sharpen the shoulders instead of the edge, sharpmaker works best in my opinion creating a microbevel and quick touch ups, diamond rod...

Just the thought of carpet screams M4 ; )
Yup, or some kind of steel with good edge durability, as others have said old carpet is filled with so much debris, and as is very abrasive

Re: Blade-Play Issues: I want your knowledge, please.

My eenduras and delicas have had blade play and so does my police 4, but it's more so lock rock? It's never bothered me and have no chance of closing, and I've also been told it's part of their design to move a bit

Re: Police 4 K390

Those are some nice looking knives, btw how did u apply the mustard to the blade to make ure pm2 look like that? I think it looks awesome I literally squirted it out of the mustard bottle in the pattern you see on the blade. The patina formed most quickly at the edges of the mustard where the vineg...

Re: Paramilitary 2 question

I'd suggest using a tooth pic to dig out debris, and a qtip for keeping all the dust out, and I have never oiled mine once, but if its a tool/alloy steel, it may need oiling periodically to prevent corrosion

Re: Sharpening Stone Recommendation for Beginner

I'd suggest diamond stones, bench stones can become very expensive as you need to progress through grits, maybe look into Spyderco sharpmaker, or lanskys diamond set

Re: Gauging interest for Seki Sprint with more stainless instead of laminated.

If they can get ahold of k390, I don't see a problem of them getting ahold of m390, b.u. makes both, but the I really liked k390

Re: Cleaning & Maintenance of Spyderco Ceramic Sharpening Stones?

On ceramic stones I've just used an eraser, and it's made them good as new, but on my diamond stones I've ran a powerful magnet over them and it's seemed to keep them clean, tho my diamonds are still pretty new, so I'll be looking into other methods in the future, maybe using my stones dry helps als...

Re: Police 4 K390

I should first say, it's very hard to be sure of anything when looking at a photograph. That said, I would say the first picture does look like a patina may have started to form while it was in the box waiting for an owner to care for it. A little cleaning with Fritz or similar metal polish should ...

Re: Police 4 K390

I'd say if you got about 13°dps I'd keep it there unless your going to be doing hard use, as k390 Imo will hold that edge very well, I have mine at 15dps, and I touch up on the 20dps angle on the sharpmaker and it's held up wonderfully, and I often use my knives harder then most, that's why I have t...

Re: How much are you willing to spend on a Chinese made knife?

My first thought is, what if I needed to send it in for repair, will they even warrant it? Will I have to send it to China for a fix? Would a 200$-+ Chinese knife be worth having to send back if their laws hold them to no obligation to fix something that may be defective? Tbh I'll stick with Spyderc...

Re: New Techno 2 Lock Stick

Do not put oil on the knife, maybe a tiny bit of graphite oil in the pivot, oil will make it slide further and create worse lock stick, as ruudr said, use a sharpie or a pencil and put some marks where the Tang meets the lock face

Re: How often do you carry a fixed blade?

I carry one everyday on top of having a folder, for the I just don't want to use my folder on that situations That's pretty much me too. Sometimes I carry just the fixed blade, but I often carry both. In winter, I carry a fixed blade every day, all the time. In summer, sometimes it's just the folde...

Re: How different is your daily carry knife w/ gloves on?

If I'm wearing gloves I definitely use my p4, but if I'm in cold with no gloves I tend to use a flipper, I find flipper tabs much easier with compromised coordination due to the cold, also with gloves I prefer the back lock over the liner, just a personal preference, not that it's actually any bette...

Re: Police4 Sharpening and re-profiling advice?

Any more advice on some good options that haven't been mentioned yet for where to send this for a re-profiling and sharpening? I'd say I pretty much want to approach or push the limits of what K390 on this model can handle, so if I sent it to someone like BBB or vivi who already have been using the...
