Interesting note: after the first couple Mules sold on eBay in the $200 range, all the rest since have been in the $125-155 range (including shipping). I find it difficult to understand secondary market pricing and demand on Spyderco knives. The Para2 seems to sell like magic, no matter what it is,...

not only isn't any better at piercing, but actually hinders it by creating more drag I didn't think a Tanto was supposed to pierce better, but to be stronger so that when you did try to pierce something difficult it would stay intact rather than breaking off. I agree that a Tanto probably has more ...

All tanto tips are not created equal. I've seen some that appear to be very blunt, while others are much less so. I've always been a little bit intrigued by tanto points, partly because of the notion that the tip is stronger, partly because it is just different. I haven't gone out of my way to buy t...

KC appears to be finally giving up on the Cruwear Military
I had an order in to them for a Cruwear Military, going back to shortly after the knives were announced. I have been getting emails from them every week or so that said "rest assured that your order is in good hands"... Well today I got an email that said "this knife is no longer in p...

for mules at almost no profit to the company But do we know this? 1) Compare a mule sold directly for $90 with a Para2 sprint sold through a dealer for $145 as the geen Para 2 was. There is some difference in the steel cost but the think about how many more parts are in the Para2, plus the assembly...

I have an old computer at home with XP on it, my previous CAD workstation from my office. It is still a very fast machine, probably faster than the new Dell XEON workstation that my company provides for me now, but it has XP on it. I'm not using it right now and it is my only machine with XP so I wo...

I just did a quick survey at eBay and found 20 sold or for sale S110V mules That means that up to 20 knife enthusiasts didn't get one because someone that only wants to scam for a few bucks was able to get in there first. We shouldn't worry all that much about what happens on the secondary market, ...

So what defines immediately ...just kidding, but seriously there is a huge gray area here I think it's pretty obvious. There were green PM2's on ebay before Knifeworks even started shipping them. That is definitely immediately. It has been roughly a week since most people received their MT18's, rig...

If someone can abuse the system to get six (we know) or nine (we hear) when the limit is two per customer, how on earth would a limit of one per customer change anything at all??? My guess is that it would make it a little harder. Probably depends on how they work the system, but if they get multip...

Sunday's batch was a trial, 1.5 lbs of meat. Tonight I bought 6 lbs of meat to make a big batch for my office chili competition Friday. I cubed that 6 lbs with the XHP Mule, working on a flexible plastic cutting board. A lot more cutting tonight, not only because of the larger amount of meat, but I ...

I agree that the XL is without question too large for EDC. I wear jeans to my office most days and I would have no problem carrying a Manix 2 XL everyday, and I have a Military in my EDC rotation as well. Knives like the Manix 2 and Para 2 work just fine for me weekdays so I don't need to carry a l...

I wanted something fancier but I finally bought one of these (Plano 3700) at Walmart to function until I find something better. It easily holds 16 knives of the size of the Military or Manix 2 XL. Except for thicker knives like the Vallotton it could probably hold 3 per compartment or 24 total. For ...

made some mule chili today
Well the chili is made with beef, the mule was the knife that I used to cut up the beef. In this case I used my XHP mule and it worked great.

Like someone else said, possible batoning. But it doesn't have to simulate anything. Just as guns are tested caked in mud or under water even though the probability of them seeing that actual use is slim, spine-whacking is just one way to see the overall toughness of a knife. I think people have pe...

People have different reasons for why they carry one way or the other. If I'm going to carry a one-hand opening knife I want to carry it in the manner that makes it fastest, easiest and safest to draw and open, so I carry tip down. I have some knives that are tip up and I do carry them in my rotatio...
