Who Wants a High Carbon Native?
Hey y'all, After carrying my Super Blue Caly 3 for some time, I think I have been bitten by the high carbon bug. For me, I love the sharpening experience, the toughness, and the natural patina. The only sadness is that although I love the Caly, right now the Native 5 is my perfect Spyderco - just ca...

Re: GB Air Return?
I bought and sold the air 3 times The detent was soooooo weak I didnt feel comfortable carrying it in pocket, and then it had no clip I would buy one in a heartbeat if it comes back with a wire clip EXACTLY the same here, down to bought & sold 3 times :-) Wire clip, fix the detent, I'm in 100%

I just came to the forum tonight to start a thread about high carbon Natives.
Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes!!
52100 would be amazing, and how about we throw in a super blue Native to boot?

Re: 2020 Seconds Sale - BREAKING NEWS
I wish they would sell the Spydie hole cutouts. I've always wanted one. They are so cool +1000 I'm excited by the possibilities here! There are a handful of models I'd be looking for, but I wonder how or if they'll be able to preview inventory? But if anyone can pull off something this ambitious, i...

Re: Just for fun. What configuration?
My two dreams (both with thinner stock (2mm) and ground to .010" BTE):
Native 5 in K390 with contoured Terotuf handles - let's say gray or seafoam
Caly 3 in 52100 with contoured marbled CF scales

Twenty seconds on google yielded this: https://popsknife.supplies/products/tiffany-blue-g10 https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0220/0308/9472/products/IMG_5317_360x.jpg?v=1570116678 Thanks for the link. I bought a couple of scale sets of this “brand new just released” color. So there will be at leas...

Re: Black/Gray Zome + Damascus Delica and Endura Distributor Exclusives
From the following website: https://agrussell.com/knife-articles/blade-grinds “A sabre grind is either a flat or hollow grind where the primary bevel (the grind) does not cover the entire width of the blade, leaving some portion unground. If someone says “sabre hollow ground” you know the blade has...

Re: Black/Gray Zome + Damascus Delica and Endura Distributor Exclusives
In the second post on this page, I confirmed they were hollow ground... I think of hollow and saber as different grinds - hollow has a concave shape, whereas the saber is flat. In this image, 1 is a saber grind and 2 is hollow grind: https://i.imgur.com/IHX8Car.png Though I guess you could call bot...

Re: C41PTBL5 Teal S90V Native 5 lightweight
Have there been any plans or rumors for a Teal G10 Native? I'm thinking of grabbing this guy, but vastly prefer the linerless G10. But also don't want to miss out on a teal, so I'm thinking I should probably grab one while it's still available...

Re: Black/Gray Zome + Damascus Delica and Endura Distributor Exclusives
... and I answered my own question by reading the GP Knives description more carefully:
"This Limited Run version comes with a saber ground D.P.S. 15 Damascus/VG10 laminate blade and gray and black Zome FRN handles."

Anyone know if there will be plans to release a trainer down the road? I guess you could always dull this one to practice with before bringing it back sharp, but it kind of hurts my soul to even suggest such a thing...

What's going on with these knives? I keep waiting, but they haven't hit the stores yet, have they?
Nope, not that I've seen. Still waiting (im)patiently!

Re: Astute First Impressions
I think this might be my favorite new spyderco in some time. It's probably just me (men's small glove size), but the handle absolutely melts in my hand, and the palm swell is magical. I know hoping for a sprint is a pipe dream, but that is where I'm at right now. Such an incredible design!

Re: Astute First Impressions
thanks for your review and pics. how is the opening? the hole doesn't seem to line up the best with the contour and is obscured on the other side as well. can you still spydie flick it? It took a few minutes of practice for me, but definitely flickable. It's more of a flick "up" than &quo...

Re: Slim or none?
The Astute should have been a Seki backlock. It would have been nearly perfect! Definitely should have been made somewhere with sprint potential! I came here thinking of starting a similar "we should sprint the astute" thread. I would love it as a backlock, but would definitely get bitten...
