... and I answered my own question by reading the GP Knives description more carefully:

Are they hollow ground or saber ground? The video at GP knives looks more like a saber...

Anyone know if there will be plans to release a trainer down the road? I guess you could always dull this one to practice with before bringing it back sharp, but it kind of hurts my soul to even suggest such a thing...

Wow! That is the best news. My linerless smooth G10 Natives are my favorite spydies, I think this Chap is gonna give them a strong run for their money

I think this might be my favorite new spyderco in some time. It's probably just me (men's small glove size), but the handle absolutely melts in my hand, and the palm swell is magical. I know hoping for a sprint is a pipe dream, but that is where I'm at right now. Such an incredible design!

The Astute should have been a Seki backlock. It would have been nearly perfect! Definitely should have been made somewhere with sprint potential! I came here thinking of starting a similar "we should sprint the astute" thread. I would love it as a backlock, but would definitely get bitten...
