Re: Spyderco Para 3 Varieties, News & Modifications

I'm not sure exactly what is going on. This is the number from Spyderco.

The comp lock is faster than a back lock! :D
Yes, of course it is.
Hard to tell if you're sarcastic or you actually believe a back lock disengagement is anything close to fast lol.
I have 26 different Para 3s, you tell me.

Excellent choice in knives, great collection and an awesome photo! #26 is out and shipping. :) Any hints about the other 19?

Interesting. I'd rather Spyderco cqi that into the model at a better price.

Can already imagine some people arguing this new lock release will make it faster than a back lock.

Re: Spyderco 2019 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

Looks like the Spyderco C223GPDGY Para 3 Maxamet satin plain blade with dark gray G10 handles has gone on sale at KnifeCenter and KnifeWorks for $191.75. They are a different option for the Maxamet steel than the original C223GDGY . https://cdn.knifecenter.com/knifecenter/resize/timthumb/timthumb.ph...

Zombies move real slow and I have a lot of knives so I'd say I'd have a new hobby to occupy my time. :)

JD, I'm not sure I've done any better than "mostly correct" so thanks for the kudos! Another tip, keep at least 25 lbs of salt and 10 pounds of sugar so you will be able to cure meat as well as endless other uses. I have 100 lbs of salt and the Misses thinks I have a salt addiction. If I w...

I would buy 3 of these but for that dreadful locking mechanism. It's like 1993 again. :(

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Sounds like a good move, are you close to Charlotte? Are you prepping food that is available for others such as myself to eat? Is it tasty?

Sorry, seems I've either reached the age that all I can think about is food or somehow those years of watching the Food Network have fried my brain.

Re: Trendy steels

Trendy isn't something I care about at all as I find trends to be somewhat sheepish. In my obscure world, I see it more as a line in the sand as to what semi-stainless knife steels I will buy and those that I will no longer buy. In my opinion I think this is a simple and honest approach to this issu...

Re: Rice: Brown, Red, Black Ect,?

You can store raw dried rice and beans for a very long time. A handy storage is to use 5 gallon buckets with screw on lids. Separate the rice or beans into daily or meal size bags then store them in the buckets. Fill the top inch with paper towels as they will capture any moisture that might get in ...

Re: Rice: Brown, Red, Black Ect,?

Being an old fart from a rice every dinner family, I think I have eaten maybe 80% of all kinds of rice, every color, every length, every flavor. And as a PSA to all, I have to expose the lie and say that "wild rice" is NOT rice, it's actually a really tasty edible grass. I will admit that ...

Re: Glock 17, Austrian gun: How good is it, asks an Austrian who has no clue about guns..

They have enough on their hands keeping their pistols relevant in this age of computer designed firearms. Sure Glocks were and still are good pistols and certainly historically changed the entire pistol market, but in today's market no one considers them them as anymore than in the top 10. THAT's n...
