Re: My collection and thoughts (so far)
I feel the same way about the PM2. Went around the edges really lightly with some 600 and 1000 grit sandpaper followed by a felt polishing wheel on my dremel. I really like the way it feels now.

Cool. Did you ever try the diamond rods for the Sharpmaker?

Re: Share your Edge| CPM S110v
I'm not very fond of the green compound, the chromium oxide never felt like it was doing much to these high alloy steels. I used a lot of white compound, I believe that has aluminium oxide, works great but the particles are around 4-6 microns, so a bit rough for finishing touches on finer edges. Do...

Re: Measure of “reactivity” ?
I think there's also a few ASTM standards for stainless steel corrosion testing. B895 being one of them, although I'd assume much of the data on specific proprietary steels like s30v, zdp189, etc isn't available to the public.

Re: Measure of “reactivity” ?
I'm don't have a degree in metallurgy, so there's probably some metal gurus out there that can explain this better than me, lol, but anyway. Generally the chromium content is what gives stainless steel it's corrosion resistant properties. It reacts with the oxygen in the air to create a thin protect...

Re: Got myself a pm2
Nice. Can't go wrong with a PM2. I love how the action is perfect right out of the box too. Both of my Manix 2's needed a drop of rem oil and a slight pivot screw adjustment, but the PM2 is smooth as butter.

Yeah don't let them scare you with that line of "Wire fraud" b.s., if they sent you a fake make sure you contact paypal. If it was advertised as authentic and they duped you they need to make it right.

Re: Real or fake Paramilitary 2?
Looks legit to me. Hows the box look, usually the box itself has a few tell tale signs like some of the details on the Spyderco logo, missing tag with the two letter date code, etc.

Manix 2 LW. Came in handy at work today, had to open a package that was wrapped in card board and about 20 layers of stretch wrap.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Been using my Manix 2 as a fidget toy lately, lol. Flicking it open and closed one handed, really helps build up the calluses on my thumb and index finger too. It was really stiff out of the box, not quite as smooth as my pm2, but it's getting there.
