Re: K390: Seki vs Golden?

Maybe a bad batch, since the HT was suggested by BBB. This makes me feel a bit hesitant about the 15V... Where did you hear BBB had anything to do with the K390 HT? This is the first I’ve heard BBB and a less than optimal HT in the same sentence. The man is an innovator and has done something no on...

Eric mentioned he’s testing a new blade coating on a pm2. I wonder what they’re looking to improve with the DLC.

Re: Need some help about Endura SNOW PEAK

that's pretty cool! i've always wondered why spyderco puts the serrations toward the user instead of away from them. for a chisel grind, it seems like you'd want it the opposite way. i'd be curious to try it reversed. I was always interested in trying a se knife with the serrations on the non-show ...

Re: Spyderedged Sprint Runs: About Time Isn't It?

After using the se k390 seki models, it makes it hard for me to justify getting more knives. They really knocked it out of the park with those. The serration pattern is perfect for my uses. It’s less aggressive than my salts but more, aggressive than my ayoob. I like how it grabs certain material, l...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Was thinking of changing the tip angle of the SE Ayoob. Any one tried that yet? Suggestions? I did this shortly after receiving mine. I believe I went to 15 degrees. It looks a little funky but is way more useful. I’d recommend starting a little higher and work your way down. The pe section on my s...

CW is good to go for corrosion as long as it’s not soaking wet or in a very humid environment for several hours.

They dropped yesterday so if that’s when he ordered, one day shipping isn’t bad.

Re: leather strops

The compound used on the strop will make a bigger difference than the strop itself.

The knives plus green compound strop is a great one to start with.

If using steels with a high volume of carbides, you’ll want to look into a diamond spray to add to the strop.

Re: Please share your experience with, and impressions of, K390 in SE

I’ve been extremely impressed with it. I have a police, endura and Delica in se but have used the endura the most. I don’t know if it’s the hardness of the steel, the profile of the serrations, how I touched up the edge or a combination but it’s an absolute beast. When push cutting, it feels like a ...

You’ll want to use just one paste per strop. Otherwise if you use both you’ll be stropping to a grit between the 2 abrasives.

The centefonte is another great model without any finger groves like the Delica. It has a nice thin blade stock too.
