A classic tactical knife. Terzuola wrote the book on the subject: The Tactical Folding Knife . The first designer to collaborate with Spyderco. His Starmate is the classic tactical knife. Re: Spyderco's Best All Time TACTICAL Classics: Your Pick?

From what i have read and heard, Bob Terzuola/Spyderco was first "labeling" a folder Tactical. Also, someone please enlighten me exactly what is tactical, or even the purpose of Szabos "****, i dozed off at the grinding wheel" spine?! Does it have any advantage at all? To me it ...

Re: Spyderco custom shop

No, but the point is still valid. A Mustang with candy apple paint job and old school chrome reverse rims would be a nice option, but it wouldn't (shouldn't) put Shelby owners panties in a bunch :) Same with a Spyderco knife that regardless of configuration runs parallell to both stockers and sprin...

Re: Choice: Spyderco Centofante or Pacific Salt?

Which Centofante are we talking about? I have 5 different ones :) I guess the only one that's still in production. That's right, the Memory is disco'd.. Personally i find the only drawback with the Centofante 3 is when i forget it's not a Delica and flick it closed stopping the blade with my index ...

Looks and super solid feeling-wise, the 4
Action is a tie between 3 and 5 possibly (judging by my own, the 3 edges out the 5)

Re: Nick's question of "why"?

I think the video (thanks for taking time to make it) and this forum both answer a lot of "why" questions as well as ask a lot of "why not" ones :) On my yearly pilgrimage to Amsterdam i experience both why's and why not's and it is a unique thing to be able to speak to Eric and ...

Sooooo, I've been tempted for a while to get my hands on this : https://meranom.com/image/cache/data/vostok-watches-Amphibian-Classic/420306/2416-420306-Vostok-Amphibia-1-max-900.jpg Honestly, that's a good looking watch They are really cool, but the precision is a bit .. LADA-like. I'd say for a c...

Re: Spyderco custom shop

I don’t want to see a custom shop. I don't think anyone would force you under gun threat to buy a custom shop Spyderco.. :) I couldn't care less about the Tropen, but fair play to those who love it. Who am i to say "It's a ugly knife that brings nothing of value to the table" I'll just st...

Re: Spyderco custom shop

The more I think about it the more I just don’t like it. Spyderco isn’t a boutique knife shop open to all customer whims. Their knives are designed for a reason that isn’t based on mainly increasing the bottom line. They produce for example a limited run of PM2s with burnt orange scLes and Rex45 st...

Re: Spyderco custom shop

If it as up to me i'd have a go, starting with one model to test the waters. I also can't see how it would be so/too hard to have choices preventing the knife to mimic an existing sprint run. A simple addition of "C.S." on the blade stamp would keep "fake sprints" from the market.

Re: Thoughts on new micarta handle spydies?

For me, the ultimate micarta knife would be a Military with micarta crafted from old M65 uniforms. The ultimate homage to all who served. Second i'd love more white micarta (or polished G10) far too few white handled knives around! And please, all of you who get your knives dirty - c'mon, you have l...
