Re: Work Boots
Personally I'm done with off the shelf boots. There are some really decent brands out there but I'm ready for something better. For work I have to wear steel toes so I can't go custom just yet (it's a lot more difficult to guarantee fit with a steel toe) but for soft toe boots I plan on having a pa...

Re: Regarding new releases..
I would love to see the "New Product Announcements" section of the forum start being utilized to its full potential. I personally would like to see Spyderco make a post in this section every time a new model or model variation is released from quality control and ships out to dealers/distr...

Nice choice. Sounds like you are already enjoying it.SolidState wrote:I ended up out at the Albany range trying guns, and I ended up with a Marlin 336BL. It's a fun little gun.Ferris Wheels wrote:Solid State,

Re: Gun safe
A safe does an excellent job of keeping kids from having easy access to a firearm and keeping honest people honest. Outside of that, it is simply just a time sink that takes a thief anywhere from seconds to minutes to break into unless you plan to spend a significant amount of money. Before spending...

Re: Lever action repeaters
For a lever gun in a modern hunting cartridge that will work equally well in the brush of western Oregon to the open high desert of eastern Oregon it is hard to go wrong with a Browning Lever Rifle (BLR). It comes in most any flavor of cartridge you could want and they run smoooootttthhhh. I have sh...

At the top of the General Discussion forum page is the 2018 Spyderco Calendar contest. The price for a winning entry is a Cruwear sprint Para 3. So with funds tight, I say give your your camera and current Spydies a workout and you might be able to earn yourself a sweet Para 3 from your efforts.

Eagerly awaiting the swayback here also. Really wish it was ahead of the Techno 2.

Re: Spyderco fixed blade for hunting
For an all around sportsman's knife, it doesn't get any better than the Southfork. I own a Sprig and Southfork and the Southfork I feel is the better all around knife. My Southfork has been used to process over a dozen big game animals and counting with sizes ranging form pronghorn antelope to elk. ...

Re: Sprig question
I have only used mine for game processing and it has excelled at that task. As someone else noted it is a fairly thin edge and use should be adjusted accordingly. The only item you listed I see that may be an issue would be whittling wood, it would do it but I don't think it would be the best choice...

Re: Help me pick a Military
Another vote for the Knifeworks 204p. I have owned a handful of Military's and none has ever stuck in my collection. The 204p has converted me and is now my most carried knife and only Military but I plan to add at least a couple more at some point. As a bonus, there should be an email coming out an...

Re: Dr. Pepper, Coke, Pepsi or what?
Root Beer is my favorite, followed closely by Coke in a bottle. While I was in Greece I had a Coca Cola and it was incredible, if you compare the labels they use 1/3 the sugar we use in the USA in a can of Coke. So instead of tasting like you are drinking syrup it tastes like cola. So if you are li...

Re: "Beater Knife" - I don't get it...
I have what I call beater knives but it isn't because I use them for tasks I consider abuse. I use my beater classified knives because I don't want to deal with things like excessive dirt, pitch, edge rolls/chips, rapid dulling, etc... on the knives that are in my EDC rotation. Just like I have clot...

Re: Pocket Clip Screws?
I would handle it one of two ways. 1. Reach out to Spyderco warranty and repair and they will most likely just drop you a set of new screws in the mail. I would only go this route if you are confident you did not receive a fake. There are a lot of good youtube videos and forum posts on how to determ...

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread
Eric had the Autonomy 2 prototype in his pocket at the OKCA show earlier this month. It was a plain edge, semi leaf shaped blade and I believe they were talking about using LC200N. Great knife and I like the design better then the current Autonomy simply because they removed the finger groves in the...

Re: The Advocate - An Official Statement from Spyderco
I agree that Spyderco's knives running on washers cause me no issue and run extremely smooth. In fact I can't think of a single Spyderco in my collection that isn't smooth though some didn't start out that way between gritty pivots and some needing a break in period. I agree with a lot of the statem...

Re: 2017 OKCA Oregon Knife Show April 8-9
There should be some pics coming in the next couple days I would expect but not from me because I am always bad at pulling out my phone and taking photos. It was a long day for most of us filled with great knives and even better company. It never ceases to amaze me the wonderful people that the Spyd...

Re: Native Chief - Can we get a heartbeat?
I just got done handling Shaman's that were being carried by Eric and Sal at the OKCA show this weekend. They are going to be a hit and can only describe it as a Para2 sized, compression lock Native. The knife should appeal to a very wide audience.
