Re: Chaparral
In the short term, what the Chaparral line needs are more FRN models in different colors, different steels, etc. That will help keep the line alive. Then, one “fancy” handle material every couple of years. Short Term: — MagnaCut PlainEdge Yellow FRN — MagnaCut SpyderEdge Yellow FRN — SPY27 Blue FRN ...

Email notifications for subscribed threads started rolling in at around 10:43am Pacific Time. However, there are some duplicates. I got 13 emails in a row from different threads and some with posts from days past. Perhaps it’s just flushing the system. I’ll look out for emailed notifications with ti...

Re: Chaparral
I’m all for the FRN Chaparral in different steels, serrations, TiCN coated blade and a blacked-out version too. It’ll keep the Chaparral line going. However, a new fancy handle material once every couple of years would be the icing on the cake.

Re: Chaparral
Other than the Stepped Titanium scales on the Chaparral, I really like the solid Fluted Carbon Fiber scales on the Native which is linerless. That would be awesome on a new Chaparral model. It has texture and looks great! It’d be super-light and super-thin without liners. https://i.imgur.com/axlVnHs...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report
Wonderful pictures. Excited for the Charisma, and potentially the CPM-15 M2. However, is this large imperfection smudge logo(?) thing going to be on the production knives? It really detracts from the aesthetics, and looks like theres a stain/imperfection on the blade rather then a clearly defined l...

Re: Chaparral
I’d like to see a Chaparral MagnaCut Yellow FRN before the old chap says goodbye.
By the way, the Chaparral Stepped Titanium (without blue anodizing) is a stunning piece of functional art. Very time-consuming and expensive 3D CNC machining.

Re: Chaparral
I don't have time to search through catalogs or Spydiewiki, how long was it between Rafir Noble and the handle material prior to that? Quite awhile I imagine Chaparral Sun & Moon was at dealers in August 2020 followed by Chaparral Birdseye Maple less than six months later in January 2021. Chapa...

Re: Chaparral
It seems like Spyderco has given up on introducing new handle materials which was one of the original missions of the Chaparral line. The last Chaparral with a new handle material was Birdseye Maple which was at dealers in January 2021. Perhaps like the Sage line, we’ll soon end up with just FRN sc...

Re: Upping the price.
To those of you who do not want to pay for Spyderco products, I say depart and do not return. Either trust those managing the creation of Spyderco products or find another manufacturer that pleases you. Spyderco the corporation, the First Family of Spyderco, it's employees and fans do not need you ...

Re: Upping the price.
I purchased my Buck 110 (420HC) in April 2013 for $35.95. It has a nice Rosewood handle which isn't available anymore. The Ebony wood handle now is $64.99. The Buck 110 was introduced in in 1964. It's a classic American folding knife.

The old themes looked much easier to read than now on iOS / Safari platform. In particular, the Notification page is difficult to read. Gray font on gray background is tough to read. Old videos don’t play.
Thank You.

Re: Any recommendations?
Spyderco Smock would probably be a good choice for arthritis hands since it’s a button compression lock and can be opened via blade hole or flipper tab. Very well made in Taiwan. Unfortunately, the blade length is 3.4” and goes for $228.

Re: new coating coming!
I thought the new in-house coating was just for the U.S. made Spyderco knives replacing the expensive DLC coating? Spyderco knives from Japan and Taiwan use TiCN coating. Also, I’m assuming the recently released ParaMilitary2 Salt Black Blade is DLC but at some point it’ll be the new in-house coatin...
