Re: A patina expected and unexpected... cpm m4 vs s110v (pics)
My PM2 has a bit of that as well, I just assumed it was a little bit of finish variation from grinding. Never bothered me and hasn't changed since I've owned it. I'll take a look at my Manix 2 when I get a chance to see if it has the same condition.

Re: Layaway program for more expensive Spyderco Models: Thoughts?
I've never seen the point of layaway. If something's a collectable and may not be available when you have the money, it's also probably a luxury expense, which, if you don't have the money in hand, may not be the best idea to buy. If it's something you actually need, it will probably be available wh...

Re: Spyderco/flashlight match-up.....
I usually carry my Zebralight SC62W but occasionally have my Fenix LD01 if I'm short on pocket space. Knives rotate a lot but the S110V PM2 or my CRK Inkosi get carried a lot.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Carrying my S110V Manix 2 Lightweight for the first day today. Sorry, no pretty pictures yet. First impressions are that this is going to be an awesome hiking knife. Also thinking this will start coming along biking and running. The ergo's are great for me and the performance for the weight is fanta...

Thanks, those look really nice. If it didn't void the warranty I'd be all over it. Still deciding if I want to go there or not.

Those look great. I'd love to see a few more views that show the contour a little better.

Re: Manix 2 Lightweight - Steel Options
For hiking and backpacking I like the Manix LW as a platform. S110V is a good choice if you can pair it with a small tough fixed blade for the grunt work. S110V might be a challenge to maintain in the field if it becomes very dull. Agreed, I was thinking the same thing and picked up a DMT diafold t...

Re: Manix 2 Lightweight - Steel Options
Thanks for all the input guys (Including all the people who have posted reviews and info that I used to decide). Decided to go with the S110V version. The Maxamet was really tempting but I don't think I'm ready to spend that kind of money on a relatively new steel. Maybe when we get a little more in...

Re: Manix 2 Lightweight - Steel Options
Thanks for the input guys. You're probably right that I'm overthinking it. I often do. I'd definitely say I'm leaning towards Maxamet or S110V. It's the steel I know and like, versus the new steel that sounds like something I would like. I suppose my main worry with Maxamet is that it will be too fr...

Manix 2 Lightweight - Steel Options
Yep, another "which knife should I buy?" thread. I've been wanting to buy a Manix 2 Lightweight and lately the decision has gotten a bit more complicated. Now we have BD-1, CTS-XHP, CPM-S110V, and CTS-Maxamet as options. I was initially planning on the S110V version, since I've liked it so...

Re: All this "blurple" nonsense..
Been carrying my blurple Mili the past few days. Love the knife and the scales. Since all of my other folders are tip up, I decided to carry the Mili in my left pocket such that the blade rests against the seam. Still draw with my right hand. I got the idea from a guy on youtube doing this with the...

Benton Box Shop M390 PM2
Just saw on Benton Box shops Facebook feed that they're going to be getting more M390 PM2s this winter. No mention of price. Didn't see any post here yet and thought a few folks might be interested. I'm worried about how much they might charge with how high demand is likely to be.

Re: If someone wanted to buy you a Spyderco for your birthday...
There are several I'd like. Hard to pick just one. Sage 5, Mantra, G10 Manix 2, Domino, Bradley Air, Kiwi, SpydieChef, Bradley Junction, K2, another PM2 or pretty much any sprint. Those are just the ones that really grab me. I wouldn't be upset if someone closed their eyes, flipped through the catal...

Re: PM2 Question
I have to agree with everyone so far, the PM2 is a great platform and S110V just makes it better. I haven't had any real issues with the steel beyond getting used to sharpening it. All I can say on that front is get the diamond stone, be patient and use a sharpie to keep track of your progress. Espe...

Re: Lost Knives
I lost my Southard the first week I had it. I hadn't even carried out of the house yet. It was in the couch for a couple of months until I found it looking for a remote control. I live in gym shorts and sweatpants and sometimes carry loose in a pocket which comes with its risks. I usually carry IWB...

Re: Spyderco Manix 2, awesome EDC.
I've been trying wanting to pick up a M2LW for a while now and the recent Maxamet and XHP sprints aren't helping me narrow down my decision. BD-1, CTS-XHP, CPM-S110V, or CTS-Maxamet. Too tough to call. Probably can't go wrong with any of them, but still have to decide. And no, I can't get all 4... L...

Re: Manix 2 C101PGY2 W/ Maxamet
I didn't pull the trigger on the Maxamet Mule so I'm glad to see this option.. I don't have a Manix 2 yet so this should be a nice way to give the model a try. I'm hoping it will make a good backpacking and EDC knife. I'm also really curious to compare it to the S110v PM2. Now I just have to decide ...

Re: What are the "high and low" models in your collection?
High: S110V Para Military 2. Medium: GB1, ZDP Delica Low: Nirvana, DF2 I carry all my knives, but some just end up in my pocket more often than others. I'll pick up the DF2 to carry it and think, might as well take the Delica since it's a little more capable, then I think, might as well take the PM2...
