I've had one for about two years now. _ excellent slicer/cutter indeed. Cardboard, plastic, leather, ropes, wires, clamshell packaging ( I hate those ), plants, adhesive tape, food... whatever you need to cut, the Centofante will handle it; _ it may not be suitable for very hard use, but it's not fr...

I was about ten years old when I was given my first Swiss Army Knife. It felt so cool with all these shiny tools : blades, screwdrivers, saw, scissors, magnifying glass, fish scaler ( who uses these, BTW ? ), file - you name it. What more could a boy want ? Well... stitches and bandages come to mind...

I was searching the internet, trying to learn how to sharpen my good old SAK (which was getting a bit dull). You know how it goes... I ended up on knives forums, discovered these strange-looking knives with a hole in their blade, and finally ordered two of them : _ a Centofante III : I liked its cla...

Coloured handles : thumbs up or thumbs down ?
Out of the five Spydercos I own, three have a coloured handle : blue (obviously...) for the Sage 3, purple for the Ladybug and yellow for the Salt (my latest purchase). While it's not exactly a top priority when choosing a knife, I quite like the fact that Spyderco often makes this option available....

I can barely open my Ladybug with one hand : the handle is not quite long enough, and the Spyderhole just a bit too small. So using both hands is in fact easier for me too. I don't really see it as a shortcoming, though, but more like a - small - price to pay to have a knife that is so unobtrusive w...

Hmmm... Spyder-tanto ? I like the idea. Putting a Spyderhole on japanese-style knives might be quite a challenge, though : to keep the lines as straight as possible, you don't want any hump on the blade, which means a rather large cut-out on the handle. Even so, the thumb hole would probably be part...

Thank you all for your welcome and your advice... even though you're not helping with my (slight) knife addiction (but I never thought you would) ! Im guessing you will end the year around 10 Spydies Let's see... I had two Spydies before I even came across the forum (Centofante 3 and SS Jester). I n...

I've only had the Sage 3 for a few days, but I already like it a lot : good grip, smooth opening, nice colour... and of course a very sharp blade ! What surprised me at first was its weight : my most used Spyderco so far was the Centofante 3, which is quite light. At 3.5 oz, the Sage 3 is only 1 oz ...

Hello everyone
I discovered Spyderco knives a couple of years ago, but I only came across this forum recently. Lots of great info here ! Since then, I already bought two more knives (a Sage 3 and a purple Ladybug : I like coloured handles), and I'll probably get one of the Salt line soon. Maybe a Native, too : the...
