Re: Endela or Straight Spine Stretch?

I don't care much for finger choils but I would pick a Stretch over an Endela any day of the week: the finger bumps are not as annoying on the Endela as they are on the Endura or the Delica... but they're still there!

It is now in BD-1N steel with Grey G-10. Unfortunately the Denim G-10 was changed.

I'm not sure about the Polestar, but there have been batches of the Alcyone with both BD1N steel and the blue/grey denim G-10. They're probably harder to find now, though.

Re: Colors

I will only buy a black knife if (1) the blade is also black or (2) the handle is carbon fiber. Otherwise it's a no go.

I mostly like vivid colors but the K390 blue is great and I would love to see some BRG again (preferably not as dark as it is on the ZDP-189 knives... which are almost black ;) ).

Re: Police vs. Endura - Ergonomics

I'm one whose fingers don't quite line up with the Endura, so the bumps make it less comfortable than other Spydercos I had exactly the same problem with the Endura (or the Delica, for that matter) and I quickly sold it for that very reason: nice blade, great size but poor ergonomics (for me, at le...

I don't, but the only tool steel knife I have is a K390 Police... and with K390 you really don't need to force anything ;)

Re: Rockjumper SE or not?

What is the plus side of the Rockjumper opposed to a Delica Wharnie SE ? Both the handle and the blade are a bit longer, with a slightly better handle-to-blade ratio as well. The handle is more neutral, without the finger grooves that can be so annoying if your hand is not exactly the right size. O...

The factory said they can only do a partially serrated Resilience.
Oh right, I forgot about that :worried. That's a shame, even though I'd personally choose the Police 4 over the Resilience anyway (and I would most certainly pick a Caribbean if I wanted a big sheepsfoot blade).

Re: What's your "dream" spyderco? What combo of design/materials would you love to see?

I'd love to see a Kapara with CF scales and a good all-around steel, like S30V. Oh, wait ;)

An Alcyone with Micarta scales and an upgraded steel would be nice too (S35V, LC200N, SPY27... take your pick).

Re: Top Steels and Scales for another Kapara sprint?

Oddly enough, I like the original version so much that I'm not really looking forward to any kind of sprint run or exclusive of the Kapara (if that makes any sense). Sure, a Micarta handle could be nice (Micarta is always a nice option to have) but truth be told these CF scales are hard to beat. And...

Is it another PM2 or Para 3?

Certainly looks like a Para 3 to me (the blade doesn't seem slender enough for a PM2).

For one scary moment those last two pictures made me think Spyderco had reinvented the toilet seat.

They have, actually (SpyderSeat™, patent pending).

They haven't finalized it yet because they have a hard time finding testers (precisely because of that edge beveling problem you mentioned).

Did I waste my money? Will I figure out how to sharpen it? Will I hate it? Or love it and go crazy and buy every SE Spyderco I can find? At the end of the day, buying (and of course using :)) a SE knife is the only way to really answer those questions once and for all. So whatever the answers are, ...
