Re: Tasman or Atlantic salt for kayaking?

Yeah, the Pacific SE would be a great knife for paddling. What sort of kayak did you get? Sit in or open deck type boat?

And do you still happen to have your old SS Dragonfly? You posted a pic of it when I was new to the forum that stuck with me for some reason.

Re: Smaller knives.Just can't warm up to them.

I've always been attracted to the smaller knives Spyderco has offered and have been carrying my Techno every day since I got it in August, 2012. I actually bought it with the thoughts of possibly pairing it up with a larger folder, but have yet to encounter a task requiring a larger knife. As result...

Re: Tatanka vs Voyager lock strength test By Cold Steel

Looks to me like both did very well , with CS getting the nod in this video. It's my hope Spyderco will produce a couple knives using the Power Lock that are more modestly sized in the near future.

Re: Tell me why I need a Sebenza

If you need to be convinced why you should have one, I wouldn't bother, as it's probably not for you. You've already given a number of reasons why it doesn't appeal to you and you're the one who knows you best. Over the past decade, I would say I've carried a CRK folder over 70% of the time. The nex...

Re: Spyderco tolerances

I've owned a few Sebenzas over the past decade and consider it the yardstick knife when considering other knives. The bushing is a thing of beauty, but I've experienced a few Sebs develop the very slightest hint of side to side play. You wouldn't even notice it more times than not, but I think it co...

Re: Spyderhole Insert Design Idea: Would it work or no?

In my opinion, you would be adding something where nothing is needed. I imagine this would also bump prices.
Nay.

I'm talking about the butt of your knife. In your pic, you can see it doesn't sit as perfectly flush. It's far from a big deal, but it is there.

There's no issues with it, but it just doesn't sit as perfectly flush as the original along the butt of the handle, while the gears don't sit as proud. Could you post a few pics of yours?

I would definitely not be concerned about any lack of high precision machining of a Ti backspacer from Cuscadi, their F&F is on par or better than Spyderco itself. If anyone besides Sal's crew could make such an item, Cuscadi would be the first place I'd seek out. Everything I've ordered from t...

I think part of the problem people have with the Techno is that they, mistakenly, think its for a hammer grip. It clearly is not. While its not super uncomfortable in a hammer grip, it certainly doesn't seem like a fit. By all outward appearances, the knife was designed for a pinch grip. When you g...

Looking at the Techno, it seems that it would be difficult to open and close left handed. While it's certainly not as easy to open with the left hand as the right, it's far from impossible. If I'm to use my left hand, I simply start the opening by using my middle finger on the non-lock side and fol...

Congrats on getting the Techno. Like I've stated earlier, I'm sold on the Techno and have carried it every day since August, 2012. It displaced my trusty Small Sebenza of many years. I feel the Techno is actually a better EDC and will be interested to see if you come to a similar conclusion after yo...

I really liked my SS Dragonfly, but the Techno has far better F&F and I very much prefer the extra heft and longer cutting edge that you get with the Techno.
