Re: Have you gotten your dream blade of 2018?

Hard to say. I've only bought a few this year. A S110v Mille, para 2 and 3 and a super blue caly jr. I was content for the last several years rotating the spydercos I had acquired over the last ten or so previous years? So is one of those my dream knife? Who knows. Seems like the "dream knife&q...

Re: Spyderco knife rotation? How many?

I guess I rotate about ten or so in and out. Three versions of the military- Ti, PE 440v, S110v. A PM1 in D2 and a P3 in S110v. Then another five versions of the calypso. C54 SE, caly 3 g10 and carbon fiber, a super blue jr and a ukpk. I guess you can see which models I gravitate to.

Re: If you could resurrect one discontinued model what would it be?

I'll second the C54 Calypso. However, in original unlined micarta. I have a serrated edge I got for an absolute steal several years ago and it is an awesome knife.

And yes I know there are QC issues with unlined micarta and it is probably not feasible.

Re: Do you care about deep carry?

It just depends on the knife. Of the two dozen our so spydercos I own I've only felt the need to put a deep carry clip on two. My para 1 and para 3. I find both really uncomfortable to carry without one. I put a blue deep carry clip on my burple military and you can't really notice it when I wear je...

I would have to say the Caly3. I love the design and ergonomics.

Re: Spyderco Calypso Jr. Sprint Run Knife Gray (Aogami Super Blue)

Mine showed up today. I paid a bit of a premium from a reputable eBay seller, but I would have kicked myself if I didn't grab one. About six years ago I broke the blade on my zdp version in half doing something stupid. I've been in search of a replacement ever since. I think this will be a good repl...

Re: More Reverse-S blades?

I experimented and carried only a cricket for almost a year. That little thing did everything I asked of it and I really never noticed I was carrying it. Love that knife.

Re: Why do you carry a knife?

Becomes some times I need to cut something. Also because I fidget allot and sometimes I need something other than my phone to play with. Also I appreciate well made things and spyderco's product line exemplifies quality and attention to detail. I honestly believe they put a level of thoughtfulness i...

Spyderco oddballs and settling on the one (or ones)

So I started acquiring/collecting spydercos about twelve years ago. At first I was mesmerized by the many unique designs that looked like no other knife I'd seen before. Fast forward to today and I've slowly gotten rid of almost all of them. The dodo- loved the look and performance it just wasn't a ...

440v Military?

Hey guys new here but long time spyderco user and collector. I recently came across this knife in my collection. I must have forgot about it. I don't recall ever using it. Anyway my question is in ya'll's experience how well does 440v perform in comparison to some other steel (S30v etc)? Also when w...
