I'm what you would call a collector. I have way too many knives. And I buy more.

But like you the one that I carry the most is a Delica.

And I too agree with the sentiments of the Spyderco family. Class act all around.

It's a lot smaller than I'd imagined.

How is it closed compared to say a Delica or Chaparral? Or any other popular knife?

I'd like to get an idea of how much room it's going to take up in the pocket.

One thing that helped me the most was to mount the Sharpmaker down with screws and use both hands on the knife. I found a piece of heavy countertop of some type and mounted mine on that. Trying to hold the Sharpmaker with one hand and the knife with the other just didn't work too well for me. After ...

My tracking says it was picked up too, not just a label created.

I'm a sucker for orange knives. I have dragonfly and a Delica. Now a Manix 2 on the way.

I was doing so good. I haven't bought a knife since the Jade PM2. I bought two of them and guess what? I dyed one of them orange. Bwwwhaaaaaaa.

The best way to get black is to get black G10 scales. But yes, the longer it simmers the darker it should get. You may also want to double up on the amount of dye if it's not dark enough. You can always try again if it's not dark enough the first time. But it's always a gamble. You can ever be sure ...

Also be advised that it may not turn out black. It may turn out brownish.

I would take the scales off and use a thin wire to suspend them. I recommend the powered Rit dye. Use a pot and bring the water a about a cup of distilled white vinegar to a simmer. Make sure the dye is dissolved. Dip the scales in. Make sure they are covered. Check on them after about 15 minutes. I...

One of the many things I love about Spyderco is that they will sharpen serrations. I got over-confident with a powered sharpening system.
