Love my Opinels! I always take one with me when I collect something from German customs. Due to German carry restriction laws, I open it very ostentatiously with both hands, nicely and very slowly and cut the package open. Oh, that seems to be sharp, they often say then. I have a stainless Number 6,...

Very cool. The Case Sodbuster seems to have come from that basic design. I wonder if they sell direct to Americans or if you have to go through a knife company middle man? Don't think they sell directly, here's a few links, unfortunately all in German: http://www.messer-mit-tradition.de/windmuehlen...

I like that. Elegant and handsome - the finish work on those steel pins with brass bushings is a good indicator of hand finish work. Solingen used to be a popular name to find on cheap imports in the states, along with Rostfrei (for Italian or supposedly Italian blades) but it is good to see a nice...

Solingen made pocket knife
I'd like to show you a true, genuine Solingen-made pocket knife. Yes, they are still being made, fortunately. A forum friend in a German knife forum was kind enough to select and buy it for me according to my request. He lives just 20 km away from Solingen and offered to do that for several forum me...

Ti Scaled custom Spyderco
Received something from the superb craftsmen at CustomSpyderco several days ago: A flat-ground Delica with 3mm thick titanium scales, one side tricked out with the punisher motif. The other side is plain, except for their "hand" motif. This is my third Spyderco from them, the other two hav...

These arrived several days ago: Titanium Native 5 AFAIK, they were my longest-running ever pre-order at KC. Finally they are here, and well worth the wait. Congrats, Spyderco, another home run, keep up the good work! http://abload.de/img/p1010266oging.jpg They feel nice, solid and impressively heavy...

These arrived some days ago, Li'l Matriarch and Matriarch 2. They are a very nice addition to my other hawkbills. However, I wonder why the Li'l Matriarch has jimping on the back of the blade and the M2 doesn't, as can be seen in the pic. I'm a great fan of jimping, even if it's on a blade mostly us...
