Re: Gayle Bradley Advocate First Impressions?

Just an update: Still loving mine! Received it 12/27, and in that time it's gotten around 75% pocket tme. It is very smooth, has no blade play, and a solid lock up around 50%. The weight, materials, ergos, in-pocket feel, blade design, size and action have actually made this my favorite modern folde...

Re: Gayle Bradley Advocate First Impressions?

We've been working on the issues since they emerged. Being a thin flipper, it's complicated and requires study. Eric and I have been discussing this every day. sal Thank you for your response Sal, I'm glad the Advocate is a design under current review, because I believe that it is a phenomenal desi...

Re: Gayle Bradley Advocate First Impressions?

Alright, so I've got to add that since using my Advocate for a couple weeks, my lanyard tube has become a rattling mess. I have to add that I can't stand the tube from an aesthetic or functional stand point either. So it's pretty ridiculous but even after deciding to leave this piece together, upon ...

Re: Gayle Bradley Advocate First Impressions?

Over a week of carry & play and I'm still loving my Advocate... Definitely more smooth than day one, and zero issues experienced at this point. Rock solid lock up, flipping action is robust and there are no washer divots or galling felt when slowly opening or closing the blade. The only feedback...

I tried to post these in the "Gayle Bradley First Impressions?" thread, but they have been awaiting approval for a couple days now... http://i.imgur.com/5sSwuSs.jpg http://i.imgur.com/rwAm2rs.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1h96uBB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/048vThu.jpg http://i.imgur.com/a6fsWpR.jpg h...

Re: Need Advice Quick; Mantra or Advocate

I only have the Advocate, but I really couldn't be more pleased with it. It is a large blade and carries very small due to the weight & thinness.

I guess it really comes down to what you prefer as far as size and blade profile go...and whether the price difference is a concerning factor for you.

Re: Best way to take care of M4?

Just make sure to store it dry and give it the occasional wipe down with mineral oil and you should be good to go. In the summer time if it gets sweaty from being in your pocket you will want to rinse it off towards the end of the day, as the salinity of sweat will definitely cause spotting if left ...

Re: Gayle Bradley Advocate First Impressions?

Zero listen dude 50 count them 50 models for you to chose from. a lot of them are new and different as well as old models. If you don't like those choices move on. You just follow along Jr., don't get in the way. You're not relevant or constructive to this conversation at this point so maybe you ne...

Re: Gayle Bradley Advocate First Impressions?

It is smoothed out, unlike the GB1. The whole knife is rounded and chamfered except for the inside of the lock bar stabilizer, which is why some have complained about closing the blade being uncomfortable...the lock bar has an interior edge for sure and you will feel it the first day, but after that...

Spyderco Advocate Picture Thread

Since the Advocate has finally arrived, I felt like this would be the perfect time to initiate a picture thread. I really hope this evolves overtime to include all sorts of modding/anodization, I can't wait to see this orange peel TI in all variations & colors. In the mean time don't hesitate to...

I just felt like this thread was missing some pics...etched & stonewashed the polished clip, and set bevel to 17 dps. http://i.imgur.com/8hiKEzP.jpg http://i.imgur.com/rwAm2rs.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1h96uBB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/048vThu.jpg http://i.imgur.com/a6fsWpR.jpg http://i.imgur.com/y3eO...

Re: Gayle Bradley Advocate First Impressions?

I got mine yesterday and I have to say that I'm really pleased with it. Fit and finish are superb, blade size and profile perfect, handle thin but ergonomic and weight just about ideal. I personally could use a little more texturing, and not so much from the orange peel finish but from the polished ...

Re: Gayle Bradley Advocate First Impressions?

Yeah, that is concerning...this will be my first experience with them but I did notice how thin and frankly flimsy the washers seemed in the ApostleP video review. I hope it won't become a deal breaker, but that's about all I can do.

Gayle Bradley Advocate First Impressions?

Merry Christmas all!! I'm still waiting for my Advocate to arrive in the mail and have been scouring the web for reviews and first impressions. I know quite a few of you must have picked them up since they seem to be pretty much sold out everywhere. So let's hear it! I'm very eager to get your thoug...
