Don't feel strongly either way, but I think that it can be useful to find the lockbar without looking. I'm glad it's there on my D4 and R, but glad it's not on the chaparral (would look funny with the trapezoidal lock cut out).

I would imagine that it's in the range of the Southard. It's not a collaboration, but that scale material probably adds some cost. Just speculation though...

Also interested in the integral comp lock. I missed out on the ATR but always thought it was a cool design despite the quirky looks.

Any word on whether this is a sprint or limited production? Doesn't say in the listing.

Manix XL sprint is a lock, as is the forum knife, but not sure if those two will be the first this year.

Mostly on my person and on my desk and on my dresser. I'm looking into better options though as the collection grows, just a few I'm considering so far: eight drawer chest, two drawer chest.

I'm interested in other ideas as well, but these seemed cost effective.

I can not endorse the XL enough, it is my favorite spyderco design thus far, although I am much less experienced than many when it comes to their full line of knives. And yes, both.
