Thanks for the input guys. Sounding like the Chaparral is a good choice for the EDC. Question on the Home/Camp: What about a mule? I see the MT16 just came out. How would it compare to the Enuff? Where would I get scales and how much would they cost? I see Halpern Titanium has scales, but their sit...

I would pick the chapparal or the delica 4 ffg for the EDC choice. THe new chapparal only has a new steel, so if you do not have a knife in s30v (which the old chapparal has) it may be a wise choice. Cts-xhp is a newer steel to my knowledge. Home/Camping my choice would be the Military (due to a big...

Assist me in picking next knife

Currently looking at either the Chapparal or the Techno for my next knife. Which should I choose? Below are the Spyderco models I currently own
  • Endura 4 FRN
  • Delica Stainless
  • Caly 3.5 Superblue
  • GB Air
  • Sage 2

Millie is more than likely too big in a work environment. Many factors go into play such as state and mentality of others.

Good Job Jnichols :) It's a very nice feeling getting your own edges sharp :D Playing with the edges provides quite a bit of enjoyment. You've inspired me to fix my SuperBlue microbevel on the Mule, it has a 20° primary with a 30° microbevel and I'm seeing some chipping on the microbevel. As I'm on...

The Salsa was made in Taiwan, right? So, we're looking at the availability of some hefty (based on your personal preferences) material upgrades in blade steel and handle material. CPM-S30V or CPM-M4 with CF, hmm? I am on the hunt for a knife in CPM-M4 in a different variety that spyderco offers and...

If you go Delica you will regret not having the bigger blade. Trust me.

This is one of my favorite steels as well. It does patina instantly though, which is fine by me just adds character.

Then again, sick steels at cheap prices.

I do plan to put this to use and the handles would cover this up. The spydie hole finish is a bit upsetting, but not a deal breaker. However it would be nice if it was perfect or these issue disclosed before hand.

Could this be a factory second, poor finish, or used? Spyderco Mule mt08p

I recently purchased a Spyderco Mule Super Blue due to loving the steel so much. The issue is there are many scratches and a few black lines on the blade handle and the spydie hole cut is not clean and seems to be poorly finished (top of the hole has a speck of metal and the top of the hole is not p...

Future of cpm-m4

Do you see spyderco making other models in cpm-m4? I enjoy the non stainless for their uniqueness, ease of sharpening, and their slicing properties and I really like this steel, but would like to see a different model maybe a para2. I would also like a caly3.5. So para2 or caly 3.5 in cpm-m4. Please.

spyderco please keep quality high. spyderco pricing is at it's price point for a reason. At times I feel the pain when purchasing a spyderco; I can be rest assured that it will be of a high quality with fine materials. Having a fine tool is worth it to me in the end. Spyderco hosts a number of price...

I was starting to get aggravated due to the angle being off. I was wondering if I should get these knives professionally sharpened or reprofiled. I will give it a shot with this method. Thank you for your comments

Spyderco Sharpmaker Question

To get a razor edge on my Delica on either 40 deg or 30 deg. I have to turn the knife ever so slightly towards the middle of the sharpmaker (away from the stones) I am not hitting the edge on both sides of the knife due to the sharpie trick. Is this bad technique and should I stop this? Is this tell...
