I don't recall ever seeing such rule before. Spyderco is bringing back a few other discontinued models in both sprint runs and regular production too: It has been a few years since a Caly Jr. and there is supposed to be a sprint run of it being done again. The Wayne Goodard is supposed to be availab...

Cutlery Shoppe and National Knives for most of my Spyderco purchases.

Knifeworks for at least one exclusive and one sprint run so far.

Right-side tip-up carry on every folding knife for me. Tip-down just doesn't feel right. It generally tends to poke my hand. (One exception to this would be the Caly Jr.) In a way this helps limit the knives I want to purchase. If they can't be changed to tip-up or aren't tip-up only, I move on to a...

To get around the lack of a smaller ultra fine stone for now.

I have purchased one of the ultra fine Sharpmaker rods.

I plan on getting the ultra fine benchstone too.

The "edge-u-cation" section of the Spyderco website and catalogs is one of the best places to learn about steels, how the elements affect the steel, blade shapes and so forth.

Jack, the picture links at the bottom work.

However the ones in the middle of your post don't work.

I have a few Americanized tanto points from Cold Steel and one from Kershaw.

Like most other knife fans, I find them to be geared towards self-defense purposes than every day carry/utility designs.

Wharncliffes and drop points are much better for EDC.

This is another one I wish I would have picked up when they were still in production.

I like the production models a lot better than those prototypes.

I am glad that I bought one of the black FRN/VG-10 versions about ten years ago.

I had no idea it would have so many variations.

I hope that they do another version eventually. Quite a nice knife.

Yes, I have to agree with much of the above regarding using diamond and ceramic stones over the traditional Arkansas stones.

Most of the modern-day steels are pushing higher Rockwell hardness is why.

I have not been able to get into chisel grinds at all.

I was given a cheap S & W chisel-ground tanto at work, which I use for scrapping labels off of steel tubes.
