I agree and also love this knife. Blasphemy as it may sound I prefer this one to the forum native 5; I think it is really the swedge spear point grind that puts it over the edge for me. I also prefer the lighter, slimmer handles of the FRN to the G-10 Native 5. For some reason the blade shape looks ...

Welcome Seabass; I would also highly recommend the Caly 3.5. If you are on or around the water I would say you need something from the Salt series. Try one in the serrated edge and you will not be disappointed. If you are looking for something different but very ergonomic, give the Yojimbo 2 a try. ...

Just got my new Techno and I am really excited about this one. I have been so satisfied with my Caly 3.5 of late I have not carried or really been obsessing about many other knives. Well since it has been a while, my purchase impulse started kicking in and I started looking at spydies I don't have b...

Sweet Oldies on BF Exchange

Just saw a sweet collection of a mariner, old centofante and old terzuola on BF exchange, all three for 200.
If anyone is looking for these it might be worth checking out.

I like both but would vote neither. For me the best handle material for both beauty and utility is the g10 base with twill cf overlay (sage1, chap, bradley). This is the best of both worlds.

One thing I could still use some help with is that while much smoother, the G-10 still does not have an even sheen. I polished up to 1500 grit wet sandpaper, and it feels like glass, but I can still see differences in the sheen of the G10, some looks shiny or wet and some looks dull, almost like the...

I took this from 200 to 1500 grit and I think I may have gone a little too far in some areas...not quite as even and beautiful as the vallotton thats for sure, but it has a nice smooth feel and I did take the pins down flush with the scales and they seem to have plenty of material left. If any of yo...

I never really wanted one till i held it. really melts into my hand and feels great with the thumb forward grip. the tip is really fine as well. i love this knife and would carry more but it scares the pants off my clients. one of my favorites.

So...nobody convinced me otherwise and in my impulsive nature I started sanding down the G-10 scales yesterday evening. I got through the 200 and 400 grit wet-dry sandpaper and have removed much of the texture as well as flattened the heads of the pins some (but not flush). I will be picking up some...

Wow! thats a beauty. Forgive my ignorance, but were the Calypso Jr.'s screw construction or was that a modification done during this transformation?
Truly a special knife you have there.

Spydersense, I dig your style. I must say for only having 8 spydies (so far) you have a great variety and some really great knives! Looks like you are a Manix fan, I can see that for one is evident. My recommendations would be as follows: 1. Try some H-1 pref. serrated. 2. Can't argue with the Milit...

Calling all custom Caly's

I wanted to start a thread to see if anyone has any customized caly's to show off. Sorry if this is a duplicate or re-hash, but I am thinking of polishing the G-10 on my caly and wanted to see if others have done any mods to these gorgeous knives? I realize that this will not be easy to polish with ...

I would love a sprint in any steel...just need one with some special scales for dress up. Twill CF first choice, polished bolstered G-10 second up...bolstered amboina (or any wood) third.

Howe's has Two (or at least had at the time of email)

Just for anyone still wanting the latest CPM154/S90V CF PM2 sprint, I did notice in my email from Howes this afternoon they had two available collectors at 469 a pop...not on my radar but just a heads up...may be gone already?

This is dgebler's wife. He left the forum opened and is surfing. Can all the husband's out there stop obsessively cleaning and sharpening their knives???? Oh also, please limit the flicking opened repeatedly to make sure it operates smoothly. THANKS, mean it!
