Re: Building a Custom Knife for Sal: CPM S60V

I know the price of most PM steels in Europe and they're not cheap, especially CPM in low quantity (Bohler is closer so that's normal). I still felt like the cost was high for one knife but then I saw the size of the knife, understandable. :squinting-tongue Yes, it's funny because a lot of us start...

Re: Visualizing the Tradeoff of Higher Hardness

Hi Steeltoez,

It wouldn't hurt my feelings to see a compilation of Spyderco steels as a dedicated thread. Though I would be interested to know if there were any other companies getting better performance than Spyderco on similar steels?

Re: Which Past Mule Teams Would You Like to See Repeated?

Hi Jason, As with Weeping Minora, I have no memory of communicating with you at all, much less a misunderstanding, and my memory is not bad, despite my age. I don't get involved with Blade Forums except for moderating our own Subforum there. Bladeforums is Spark's "baby", his forum, his ru...

Re: VG10 HRC

I don't watch much YouTube reviews. The one's that I watched were not very knowledgeable about knives, at least by my standards. I found Cedric & Ada and a few others good as well. I find that many reviewers that have an "opinion" seem to believe that their "opinion" is someh...

Re: Old Spyderco Gyuto

Hi Scandi Grind, I had a small number of them made a while ago for professional chefs. A large knife, MBS-26 blade steel. Exceptional quality. Didn't do well in sales. Very expensive. It's kind funny, I've had chefs contacting me since, trying to find one. Hard to beat, about 12" long blade. sal

Re: Visualizing the Tradeoff of Higher Hardness

Hi Steeltoes, Was if finished? Did you use it? sal Sal, I'll just make ya one and you can test it. Love to Shawn. Almost like a new steel, and one that I chose for our introduction of powdered metals into the production market. I'd like to pay for it or trade you something. If it works well, we mig...

I'd like to see s60v get a redemption run. I've only used Shawn's heat treat with s60v so I've been spoiled in that regard.

Hey Steeltoes,

What knife did you use with Shawn's heat treat of S60V?
