Beautiful photos, love the steep angles. Curious, what don't you like about the clip?

Ahh, that's a hand carved Chinese seal bearing my name. I collect these both antique and new. Good ones, those made by master carvers, are becoming harder and harder to find, even in China. Thanks for asking.

Both clips are from USAKnifemaker.com. The one on the Barong required a very slight enlargement of the screw holes, an easy job with a Dremel. The thin one on the Khukri was a simple swap. No modification necessary.

I intend to try STR's version too, just haven't had the time to contact him yet.

Clip is from USAKnifemaker.com. It's a simple swap, no modifications necessary. The lanyard hole is partially obstructed, less than 50%. I don't care for lanyards so the obstruction is of no concern to me. However, it clearly looks like there's enough space to fit a descent lanyard.

Here's my precious iteration: Tom Krien regrind and low rider clip. Also shown is my Khukri with low rider clip. Love the low riders, especially the narrow one on the Khukri which can easily pass as a pen.

The Rookie modification

I could have posted this under the thread about modifications, but I thought the Rookie deserves a little attention of its own considering I haven't seen much discussion about it lately. This is a modified Rookie Sprint: Tom Krien regrind and low rider clip. It is now my favorite small pocket knife ...

I think it's worth it. With Tom's modifications it has become one of my favorite Spydercos. Elegant lines IMHO. After taking this photo, I've replaced the clip with a "low rider" making it even more special. [img]<a%20href="http://s543.photobucket.com/albums/gg476/Mako109/Spyercos/?ac...

Love the Khukri and definitely interested in a sprint run. I'm in for a black G10 or even CF handle, but prefer a regular finished blade.

Yojimbo

Mike Snody's prototype of the Yojimbo...looks like a longer blade than the production run.

This is an old article, but if this variation never made it into production (or already has as a limited run), I'd like to see its return!

I've really developed an appreciation for the PPT as is...

...but would love to see a slimmer/lighter iteration using Spyderco's more common G10 or CF scales, lighter backspacer, and slightly slimmer skeletonized liners.

+ 1 on all previous positive comments on FRN. But for your future purchases make sure you add models with handles made with G-10 and Carbon fiber. They're in a different class.

Welcome to the forums.

If they do a sprint run like this, I would prefer if they took a lightweight approach with skeletonized liners or one-sided liners (like the Walker). The G-10 DFly is a pretty dense chunk of knife and doesn't qualify as a "gentlemen's folder" in my book. I agree. In addition, though it us...

Love the ergos and blade shape, but would like to see a lighter backspacer too.
