Re: I think we’re reaching the limit
The flippers will move on to the next hot product. They are much like mosquitos and fleas, only less welcome. The problem with offering the next super steel is that everything else looks bad in comparison. They have created their own trap in that in order to keep driving sales they have to keep off...

Re: Outdoor folder
Looking for a new outdoor folding knife from Spyderco. Currently I’m look at the PM2 in whatever steel, or the Manix 2 lightweight. Any opinions on which one is stronger? Not for batoning or anything like that but strength and reliability. My opinion is that the Manix 2 is going to be stronger. Whe...

Re: Pick One Favorite.
Manix 2 LW Rex45.
Very close runner ups would be Jade PM2 M4 or green PM2 K390.
I shouldn't even try to pick a favorite, I like so many.

I don't buy lockback knives and I own 2 versions of the Military.

Re: Why is the PM2 more popular when the Manix 2 is objectively better?
I like the PM2 lock better than the Manix 2 lock. My first Manix 2 was the G10 model and I liked it well enough, it seemed like a very solid knife. I liked the PM2 for it being trimmer and lighter than the Manix 2. Years after that I ended with a couple of LW Manix 2 and I like them best overall. Th...

Re: Are all SE’s single sided bevel?
I had a SE Ladybug, or maybe it was CE, but IIRC it was beveled from each side and had a large included angle because of it.

Re: Spyderco Military 4V DLC St. Nick's Exclusive
They did the PM2 and they lasted more like 2 minutes. They did the Manix 2 and again they lasted about 2 minutes.
The Military was hard to figure- it isn't as popular because of its size, in many jurisdictions it is not legal.

Re: Manix 2 LW scales question...
I have Manix 2 models in G10, I have various PM2 models, and I have a couple of different Manix 2 LW models including the S110V model. The LW models have become my favorites. If you don't like the LW scales you can get the Manix 2 with G10 scales and S110V steel, and you can swap the scales on that ...

Re: First Sharpening - What's it Do to Resale Value?
I think it depends on the knife. If a person wants to buy a somewhat rare knife for a collection then they will want the factory edge. If a person is buying a knife to use then they won't care if they have the factory edge but a resharpened knife can be a negative depending on who resharpened it. Th...

Re: Blade HQ Mint Green M4 Manix LW
I’d be stoked if this was a Manix 2XL with Green Canvas Micarta and M4. There are plenty around with jade green G10 and M4. They have been produced in S90V and carbon fiber and I can attest to the fact that these were slow sellers, and then there is the upcoming model with Cruwear. This new model l...

Re: Buy, sell, trade, page?
This is already being done on another sites where Sal himself is a moderator. I agree. Selling in the knife world is not in the best interests of the theme of this site. Go to the other site to buy/sell. I've been on the other site for a long time and selling brings out a bad side of some people th...

Re: Paramilitary or Manix
I like both, but the question didn't specify which Manix 2. When I started using Spyderco there was only the G10 version of the Manix 2. It was heavier than the PM2 so for me I preferred the Manix 2 as a work knife and the PM2 for EDC. Now that we have the LW Manix 2 I like it for EDC too. I like th...

I like M4 and I have more in M4 than in any other steel, but right now I would choose Rex45.

Re: Oil Recs
My favorite is Birchwood Casey Barricade. I've owned some of the stuff that A.G Russell sells, and some Renaissance Wax. Neither one of them seems to protect an M4 blade very well. I also had a can of spray by Royal Purple but it developed a leak and dripped lube all over my workbench. When I discov...

Re: Ergos: Stretch vs. PM2
Compared side by side the top of the back of the Stretch is rounded, this conforms to the normal hand better. Looking at the PM2- an enterprising person could remove the lanyard tube and round off the back of the handle similar to the Stretch. It would be interesting to see one done that way.

Re: any plans for a PM2 lightweight?
Yeah, need is out the window here for most of us, I think. I'm also thinking it could be very dangerous. I really liked the Manix 2 G10 models, then I got the LW version and now I like it better. I sold my extra G10 models and bought more LW models. The PM2 G10 is lighter than the Manix 2 G10 so do...

I have 4 PM2 already that I carry and use so don't really need another one, but I'll buy a LW model when it comes out.

Re: Carry: Tip Up / Down & Left / Right
There are a lot of aspects to this. Some people like tip up for security- tip up righthand allows the blade to be against the side of your pocket where it should not open during carry. Some people like tip up because it is more comfortable when holding, it is essential if you are using a lanyard and...
