Yes, but not nearly as easily as, say, even a Ladybug. It's much easier to open it two handed like a traditional pocketknife.

Actually, that's how I would classify this one - Spyderco's take on the classic small slipjoint pocketknife. Just, instead of a nail nick, it has a hole.

The boxes are one of the things I like about them! Dumb, I know, but I love the foam inserts and the heavy cardboard.

Got my Grasshopper (comparison pics)

I received my Grasshopper from Knifecenter.com today via UPS. It is really knice! It is quite a bit larger than the Honeybee, as the pics below demonstrate. The knife came very sharp, and was enclosed in one of those cool little boxes that the Bug and Honeybee come in. Fit and finish are very good; ...

I use my Sharpmaker more than any particular Spyderco knife, since I use it on all my knives.

I don't stalk, per se, but if I see Sal post here or on BF, I definitely read it.

"I love the Glessers and the entire Spyderco Crew."

Thanks for the contest! :)

EDCForums down?

Looks like something happened. I've been getting a database error all day.

ETA: Never mind - apparently, it's just the new home page. The forums page works.

That's exactly what it was. I saw the same date on several sites, and figured it was correct-ish.

I might be in the minority, but I find the grind line on the saber ground blades more aesthetically pleasing than the smooth FFG blades.

My neighbor has a small lathe and turns pens - he made me one last week that I think would make a very stealthy "tac pen." It has a substantial brass tube inside for the body that is surrounded by 1/2" -9/16" of wood. It is a twisty pen, so there is no clicker to wobble or cap to...

That was exactly a demonstration that I was planning on! They know about hunting and what a bullet can do to a living creature, but an exploding item roughly the size of their head should hopefully give them pause about being extra careful. "This is why we follow the rules."

I live in PA, so I have a dealer I work with here. That one is a Thompson Machine Zephyr - stainless tube, aluminum monocore, able to take apart to clean out. If you're looking for a deal, TM is it right now. They are very aggressively priced, their quality is great, and they are very friendly to ta...
